true but life does go on, i've been stuck in brixton riots and handsworth riots in my time, all terrible but at the end of it eventually you have to go on with life |

Someone has been shot dead. People are injured. Property has been stolen and damaged. Police and emergency services are working round the clock to keep people safe and you're worried about a meet?

it is a serious subject but jeez let's not turn on each other ffs.
There are many more minor problems caused via these riots, one being I may not get to see my young son this weekend and he wont get to see daddy, and many more, I just find some comments here aimed at the OP a little uppity.
A sense of humour will keep us all sane.
I don't want to focus on only bad going on, I'm sure most don't, sitting here saying how it should be dealt with is going to help nobody, just like trying to find a little light in the dark.

They're all different, youngest really is a mini me in every way other than he wears glasses like his mum n not me, the others vary, one at 20 is nothing like me at all other than looks. |

You could have used smiley faces after your OP.
You could have inserted a comment at the end of it to say you were only joking. But you didn't, which left ambiguity in the minds of other readers.
Then you feel aggrieved when some of those readers consider to post negative comments in reply.
If it was a joke, a tongue in cheek comment or similar, then you should have indicated it as such; we're not all mind-readers, nor do we all know your levels of humour?

I was invited to a kickabout today by a friend. his weekly game was nearly called off because the usual group were nervous of entering the city due to the riots. So this is what it comes to? Us hiding away?
People are taking brooms to the streets in Ealing and Clapham while shopowners are standing in front of their businesses and helping the police drive the riots back or on the streets making their presense felt.
Ok, this post is offensive to most and I agree on that level but he's just getting on with it trying to keep away from the doom and gloom as best as he can.
We all united against the rioters here. Take it easy.
