yes, if used as a coping mechanism to ignore issues that need sorting.

or if you enjoy the highs and can't deal with the lows.

or take risks.

or seriously neglect other parts of your life for sex.

and other stuff but they're the main ones. and it isn't as fun as it sounds.

Brighton - even Hove!

It's more likely to be a manifestation or symptom of a deeper mental health issue.

It can also go the other way and result in a loss of sex drive

Yes, I believe it is... think it's the thrill and build up possibly more than the act itself, as lets face it sex isn't always great.

Then you feel shit and guilty because you chose it over something that should have been more important to you, but you go and do it again and again.

Yes it is. I have it it's part of mental illness I have. But I only feel addicted to it if I'm on one of my days that shows other signs that's my mental illness is having a bad day. Well I say day it can last for days on end before I'm back on track again. People joke that they are nymphos but believe me it's not something I wish on anyone x

Yes and it can cause a lot of issues. I am in control of mine currently but only because of the help my partner gives me. I do still get moody and irritable if I dont get it but i can control the sex for the sake of sex part just about. However it is something that wouldn't take much to tip me over.

Ive been so busy chasing my addiction in the past that ive forgotten my school run. Didn't clean up as was to busy having sex nor did it really matter who etc... now im very mindful I dont want to go back to that. X

Is there help out there? I mean can you go to your doctor or elsewhere?

I don't think it's an addiction in itself no. I'm sure it feels that way for some but I think their problem is something else.

you can try a mental health referral. otherwise it's religious charity groups out there to support you.

little house on the praire

I was addicted fot about 5 years. It was part of my bipolar. It was before the days of the internet and i put myself in some dangerous situations. Oddly they changed one of my medications for something else and it calmed it right down. Its not funny

Yes and it can cause the same issues as any other addiction. Lying, cheating, risk taking, isolation, desperation etc

It is a genetic disposition, the want to disperse your genome far and wide, it is societal barriers that restrict our sexual appetites and desires. It is a situation created by the rule of law and ethics which then make us as humans feel that it is wrong to want or indeed have sex as much as possible we have therefore created distractions and entertainments to divert us. So its programming not addiction which makes us this way. Some people embrace it more/better than others.

I don't know .

We probably have more sex than most , and with more people than most . But it doesn't really seem like an addiction , more like a fun thing to do , and it doesn't affect our everyday life .

you can be referred by your doctor depending on what they think is causing it. Ie is it linked to a mental health issue but if its not then there are only a few support groups
