body freak

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

I've had a look about on both site and forum, but apart from one female. I find no others.

Am I the only body freak here

I'm a marfanoid

Things like my arm span is greater than my height.

My rib cage is that of an alien . I call it my body armour no space between ribs (can't see inside with no echo cardiogram) to well shielded hand full of other freaky body parts...what my cock can do haha so the freak parts aren't all bad

So any other freaks out here?

Personally I think have a great body for a marfanoid build, but still got the body of a freak compared to normal people.

I used to honestly hate my body because blokes always slagged me off about it...wasnt till started hanging around with a group of gay guys who owned a music club, that I started to accept my body and grew to feel comfortable with no top on etc.

Now I don't give a fuck. Yeah I'm a body freak with freakishly long arms

and three large legs

I have an abnormally long upper body. My legs are short but when I sit down I'm taller than most men, even when they're over 6'

Is that the type of thing you mean, OP?

yes kind of, but the Marfanoid habitus is specific to a bunch of features.

I'm actually the opposite of what your saying...my upper body is not so long. I'm all leg..so when I sit down next to blokes in say a cinema I look like a dwarf ha only when stand up at 6ft 3 im generally taller

so from whom did you gain this skill?

your mum or dad or someone else?

some years ago new scientist ran an article on those that can roll tongue in adulthood can only do so by being a witness to such events as a child and as an adult if one has never done it before, its near impossible so science says.

i wonder, can you remember? was it a parent that showed you?

Being able to roll your tongue is genetic - you either can't or can there is no learning how to do it

No my understanding from a medical professor in Germany was that it has nothing to do with genetics and that's a load of crap. You have to be taught how to do it in childhood. New scientist has also discussed it.

The tongue is not an example of genes, sorry to say

You're not dragging your knuckles .

Regarding your arms, they look like they reach mid thigh, mine extend further. Maybe i should measure my arm span

I think your arms would look less long if you could build them up.

"op - is it difficult to get shirts- jackets etc to fit?"

Very much so, but times have changed bit in upper body clothing, its not because we are getting taller, its because we are getting fatter. So now I find it not so difficult to get xxl or xxxl clothing simply for my arms. However is no such thing as off the peg suit for me, as even the longest arm...has to be made longer to the very edge of the seam

I used to wear lot of designer clothes in my younger years and most shirts, the collars only go to 17/18" so this used to be a problem, however given the people are getting bigger now, the labels are making bigger clothes, so no so much of a problem I guess. Jackets are a pain xxxl or xxxxl hard to find in what you actually want...like find like something, then see biggest is xl haha no chance

Did you measure your arm span then?

I used to dream of a better more defined body, however despite many years of working out with that aim in mind...I've stayed the same in body definition. My arms will never get bigger or thicker. Most peoples arms would increase in size after say three months of something regular like say weights. My arms have stayed same throughout my life ha will never be more defined, but I see your point myself

Your still young dude, so the probs likely maybe not be issue till older.

If you got any joint flexibility and how flat are your feet...I'm not a Dr like said, but if your really that bothered, then I'd go get your self checked out. However unless you got problems bud at your age I wouldn't bother getting diagnosed as they will try get you to maybe change your lifestyle and also will give you drugs, which u don't wanna take.

Plus and this is something you may regret, but if the lable is anything in the big leagues of a connective tissue disorder. You will be held back from financial products such as a mortgage and holiday insurance. Try getting that. That's the advise I was given by two genetic consultant. Every lable has consequences in life now. Sad but very true

Not far off pancake flat. I wear custom insoles from a podiatrist for it. But i do have serious issues with my shoulders and neck which no doctor seems to know whats wrong. I cant have an mri scan and no doctor is willing to refer me for investigative surgery which surgery is the only way to either investigate or to enable me to have an mri scan.

Sorry to hear you have issues with shoulders and neck bud. Not knowing exactly the problem can't advise, apart from saying things like...is your pillow good enough, neck support, perhaps if you like them get a memory foam pillow or a sleep with a neck support one. Set yourself a routene every day or gentle neck and shoulder exercises, do this daily. Hows your diet? Is loads of ways you can help yourself here from start whatever is or isnt up with you.

The problems are with things like marfans or marfanoid, joint hyper mobility syndrome or any of about 200 differnt gene mutations that fall under the 'connective tissue disorders' and is not much if anything dr's can do. All they can really offer is pain killers as the problems mostly with any of these conditions...is things like antiinflamatory drugs dont work and pain killers...you end up hitting the top drugs in very short space of time. The secret is never being injured, or damaging your joints, they give you physio, which mostly is uselss. The problem is they dont know very much about it all. Genetics can be helpful, but again its a label. Given you've told me you've those flat feet also and you having a few other ticks. It sounds like you want to know rather than not know.

I'd be saying to your Dr that you want to know if you have a connective tissue disorder or any of the gene mutations like marfans as you feel you have a marfanoid build.

Look it up on Google and have a read of indicators etc so have some back ground ideas to speak to your Dr about. To be honest either they haven't even heard of it or if they have they know nothing of it. Its been that way for me my whole life and takes a very clued up Dr to spot the exacting indicators.

To be honest I wouldn't have an MRI and if I was you I wouldn't have one either, if your problems are as it appears, then your better off not having one. Whatever people are told. They not safe levels of radiation exposure. Lot more to it for people like me but unless it was the only way for answers...that's if you want answers, perhaps a choice you have to make.

With regards to surgery. I would avoid. Even if they say you got a syndrome or disorder and they can fix this joint for you or sort that. Don't ever do it. Stay away from operations they not good if have any of these gene mutations. Stay operation free till as old as you can get.

Hope some of that helps.

Perhaps if things are issues for you, might be worth getting checked out, but like said does have implications on life and work
