So....Im taking a year out before returning to uni to study musical therapy.

If you had the chance to retrain (assume all issues such as cost/family circumstances would be ironed out!) would you take it and what would you retrain as?

A Chiropodist.

I quite like feet but not in a sexy way. I used to cut my grampy's toenails (they were bogging!), my nans toenails (they were like granite!) and my mums (they grow like japanese knot!).

I also cut my kids nails.

Honestly, i'd make a great Chiropodist!!

Hmmmm.

If I had the chance to redo it all I'd probably have skipped law school and just continued on as a cleaner. It was honest work, paid well, and I worked with the best people I've ever know.

I had a similar chat at work today. I currently have a pretty stressful 24/7 job and was saying how I miss working in Tesco!

Do you think you'd have satisfaction long term though or do you need a challenge?

There and to the left a bit

I'm a bit long in the tooth to be retraining/changing carreer but if I were to I think either something related to the film/TV industry or scene of crimes forensic work.

Both would be interesting and a lot more fulfilling than my current role.

I'd be shit at supporting peepsies. I'd be sobbing with them. I respect the shell of the person that was, and am not afraid of death or bodies.

Excellent pay.

I'd brush their hair, make them look as good as possible and give them their final bit of attention and chat (albeit one sided) before they head off to their resting place. I think it's a great privilege.

That's the thing, though - it was challenging. It was physically challenging. The cleaning work I did was really intensive. I was never in better physical shape than I was when I worked there.

Plus I used to keep a book in my waistband and read it on breaks when I wasn't hanging with the guys. And I could read anything I wanted - philosphy, the classics, and even law when I wanted to. I think my mind was more challenged then than it has been since I took the Bar.

Awful thing is, I got accepted onto an embalming course aged 19. My mum forced me to take the job I was offered in a petrol garage instead (at £4 something an hour) so I could pay her £25 rent a week.

Just goes to show what greed can do. I had the opportunity to set me up for life, but that £25 was more important to her.

I work for a charity who support autistic people. I've met so many wonderful people on the spectrum. Staff and service users. I'm also often humbled by how much knowledge, understanding and constant learning there is within the organisation. Its amazing to go to work to make a difference.

When I was young and worked for a uni in the laws faculty we had mature students of your (my) age and older. They were quite inspiring and went on to have a career in the law, albeit shorter than some.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I have been considering this just this week.

I've had an amazing career but because all of it is easily accessible on the net I have found it difficult to re-invent myself.

I'm thinking of getting some counselling qualifications and then getting people to see me as starting completely at the bottom in that. I'm just not sure I want to be a counsellor, I'm just interested in the courses.

I think we need a new thread of Lib and me where you tell us what we can be.

"Mortician

Oooohhhhh is it because you want to support people through their grief and ensure the memories of their loved ones are seeing them at peace or do you just want to work with people who don't talk back?

I'd be shit at supporting peepsies. I'd be sobbing with them. I respect the shell of the person that was, and am not afraid of death or bodies.

Excellent pay.

I'd brush their hair, make them look as good as possible and give them their final bit of attention and chat (albeit one sided) before they head off to their resting place. I think it's a great privilege."

Queen of the dead!....

"I wanna be a model

You already are in my eyes

Will you pay me to pose for you though?

In kisses?

Not so sure I can pay my mortgage with kisses though

We could both kiss the bank manager? See if we can get it waived?

You kiss him. I'll suck his cock as you negotiate "

Let's do it!

oban

Doctor.

I'm the 1st woman in 4 generations of my family not to do medicine and i find it fascinating but at 17 i was far too immature to do it. Too old now and medical school is very different these days anyway.
