There were lots of people I didn't speak to and I feel terrible about it. One minute it was 4pm the next it was 7.55!

The thing about bigger events, is people tend to mix less and you end up getting to identify and chat to even less people than you would at a smaller one. Some of the ones over here run to 350 people and IMO they're never as successful as smaller ones. I think the organisers of this one hit the number pretty much on the head

I would say number wise Saturday was just about perfect. Having been to a social of 150+ there is just not enough opportunity to chat to everyone. Alternatively, those that know each other tend to create closed groups within the venue.

However, and not wanting to rain on anyone's parade I don't see how one can be arranged without someone in that city with contacts. The Manchester one took its toll on one of our organisers who has since left the site so think twice before putting your hand up...

I fully understand the reasoning behind having smaller ones. You only need to look at other types of functions where a large group gather and they do split off.

Being one room on Saturday, you still felt part of the whole thing even if you were at the table in opposite corners of the venue.

They got it spot on with the size and everyone seemed to feel the same way.

Possibly why we're still raving about it now.
