So now we know it's a lass what do we think her signature costume should be?

I don't watch Dr Who, I'm not a fan but why shouldn't a woman be the next Dr.

I don't know her but people are saying she's a very good actress.

She's very attractive - Good Luck to her

Hiding in the shadows

I'm a total Whovian, been a fan all my life & I can't wait to see her as the Dr.

She's been brilliant in other things I've seen her in, about time us lasses stepped up from being a sidekick & tool control of the TARDIS

A great British institution comes crashing into the 21st century, and why not.

I've no issue with a woman taking on the role as long as she is right for the part, and the BBC haven't just hired her because people scream sexism

Dr Who sucks.

Also...the daily mail comments on the selection of a woman really made me lose faith in humanity. If you're going to stop watching a show because a woman is the lead you have fucking problems.

The Daily mail and Express make me lose faith in humanity, full stop.

It's not real life, so the programme should cast appropriately with great talent as their priority, not gender

Nothing wrong with a female Dr. Who. The tardis had no sense of direction anyway.
