One my mates brothers has told me he knows some dude who's been possessed and invited me along to his exorcism.
Tbh i'm not sure what to make of it and wondered if anyone has ever been to one.?
Any advice be appreciated. |

I don't think you can just be invited to these things. You mews a priest and holy water and it's a real big deal like. Plus you don't want any demons jumping out and into your body, I'd have to suck them back out again through your arse hole like a snake bite! |

How does one know he's been possessed though, what's he doing and what's happened exactly? My ex's parents were paranormal investigators so I've been on a few investigations. |

Interesting. Is this an exorcism sanctioned by the Catholic Church or is it a third party exorcist? I was under the impression that the Cathoic Church, while formally recognising the practice of exorcism, no longer really performed them as a matter of course. Hmmm. |

Tbh I've no idea apart from the mother has involved a priest, no idea if practicing or what.
Apparently he spat at her and lashed out when she started reciting the lords pray and held a crucifix in front of her and told her to go fuck Jesus Christ.
So shes now convinced hes possessed by demons.
Who knows.

I worked in mental health many years, either your mate has early onset schizophrenia or drug induced psychosis..
given the religious nature of the family, a person with a mental illness as above, is likely to act out in 'demonic' ways or feel persecuted(the blackened room gives that away) |

Hardly there's only 3 of us been invited and Tbh I think the mothers asked because she needs some back up if he kicks off with the priest and needs to be restrained while they do whatever he needs to exorcise him. |

I haven't called you stupid for having different beliefs to mine. My beliefs have never hurt anyone, people believing their children are possessed by demons has. There are people getting very rich from it, because they scare people into handing over their money. |

This is all down to personal belief
The catholic church and the Vatican do train exorcists though, it is a real job, i think 1 per diocese and they are also pretty good with mental health issue diagnosis |

I've had conversations with many religions about beliefs. I respect theirs-even though some have effects I don't agree with - and they respect mine. Like I said before, my beliefs don't have life threatening effects on other peoples', including children and mentally ill people who don't have a voice to protest. Someone has to protest for them.
