"Just fought I'd see if anyone else was stuck in the traffic jam!!!!!!!! On tHe m25 junction 8!!!! Damm lorry!!!"
Got stuck in a 25 mile tail back in August 2007 when a lorry shed its' load....never moved for six hours so i know where you're coming from. Missed our flight and everything and caused chaos at Gatwick with everybody trying to get alternative flights.
Next to us in the 'jam' one guy was so frustrated that he was kicking the living daylights out of his nice new shiney BWM. Made us laugh anyway! |

Did accidents years ago close roads for so long?
What with the mud slide causing problems for Gatwick the other day, not a good time to be trying to get there.
Fortunately as I live around there, I know the way around without using M25 |

"Not yet deb, have a bottle at the ready tho!!! "
When we got stuck we were lucky that the police were giving out bottled water...so that helped a little until, of course, you need to release it at the other end lol |

I got trapped for the best part of 6 hrs once.... I joined the traffic desperately needing to take a pee... I couldn't go anywhere and I remember crying in pain |

"Did accidents years ago close roads for so long?"
A huge amount of damage was done. A gantry needed taking down, tonnes of diesel to be cleared up, road surface and central reservation needs to be repaired too. Not a quick simple job. |

There is some obscure law, at least in force 3-4 years ago, that a gentleman may take a piss if he remains holding onto the left rear of his car with one ( right? ) hand. Or something like that.
Watch yer shoes.

Yeah found some other articles that detailed the issue, resurface of the four lanes due to diesel damage.
More than just removing vehicles, goods and closing a lane while repairing barrier. |

If only someone could invent some system where you drive to a nice big car park and park the car and take some form of shared vehicle to where you want to go.
Make it cheap, make sure it connections all towns and major places and viola.

Two lanes on one side are open apparently, nice and quiet around Gatwick, guess they are all stuck in traffic.
Travelling on my own would be bad enough, but missing flight with kids does not make for a good start to summer holiday. |
