Hey all, I hope we are all having fun. I had to go to the Drs a few months back due to when in the throws of passion, when I hit my peak shall we say, I ended up with severe pain in my head as though it was going to explode (never felt pain like it). When questioning the Dr he said that I was suffering from an Orgasm headache. I just wondered if anyone else has suffered with these and if so, what do you do to combat this. Has put me off of meeting as worried I might get another one. Xx |

Absolutely they exist. I started a thread about this a while back and there's been others too. Its medical name is 'coital cephalalgia' and I've had them a few times, especially after using a wand where orgasms can be very intense. Mine feel very similar to a severe migraine - I just have to sit and rock with my head in my hands, crying, until it passes.
I think dehydration can be a factor, so make sure you have water to hand and I was also advised to remember to *breathe* as physical tension is also thought to be a cause |

Yep it stopped me in my tracks and scared the life out of me,I went straight to the doctor thinking I had some brain tumour. All they said was if it happens again come back, here was me worrying my knickers off and she more or less brushed me off .
It's only happened once since, but to a lesser degree. |

I find the reverse, the release of endorphin's during orgasm can help ease a headache - of course the irony is that you don't really feel much like playing when you have a thumping headache |

"I (male) have them occassionaly but only following self masturbation. Awful, it feels as if your head is going to explode !!"
I've had them a couple of times when in a particular passionate or really horny session I was just about to cum and it literally stopped me in my tracks! Like a massive knife was pushed into my eye socket and just absolutely ragged!
I was worried about it till I went online and read they're quite common!
We all must just be really good at what we do! Lol

True ... but these kind of post orgasmic headaches aren't anything like a normal headache, more like your head's clamped in a vice that's getting ever tighter. If you had something like that *before* sex, there's no way you'd be capable of even thinking about it, let alone doing it! |

I find trying to make sure your neck is kept straight and supported, don't grit your teeth or try to hold back orgasm for too long all help to keep the migraines at bay. It's a blood pressure build up so try to keep relaxed and if you are worried about trying again start with slow and easy sex until the phase has passed x |

It is a double edge sword. You are right at your peak while holding your head trying not to scream |

Have also suffered with these (Male half) went to see the gp had blood pressure etc taken all.OK and was prescribed a course of beta blockers...sorted and stopped it within a few days of taking meds occasionally over the years has returned but another short course of meds and several years free...it's totally passion killing when nearing orgasm during or immediately after it feels like your heads going to literally explode |
