I don't really care that much. I'm disappointed. But I'm gutted for my parents. They have centre court seats on Sunday and it would have been a incredible experience to see a Brit in the final.

It's based on collection of points.

Just because someone is no 1 ranked not necessarily theyre the best.

In badminton Lee Chong Wei was no 1 several years but everybody knowd Lin Dan.is better.

Exactly! Some people seem to be forgetting this.

I caught the end of his match today and he looked like he was in pain.

I'm gutted for him. I was hoping he was going to retain his title this year. Actually, with the way Johanna Konta has been playing I was hoping we were going to have a British Woman's champion too - in fact, I'm still hoping for that

Same old downer comments after he loses, how predictable.

Personality or not, the guy represents GB. He's been our most successful tennis player we've produce for many generations. I'm not interested in his personality, I want him to entertain me while winning on the court. I'm sad he's lost, it looks like an injury has hampered him for the whole match has not helped.

The silver lining? Jo' Konta still there, with every chance of getting to the final...maybe even winning.

Especially as he's admitted that he was a miserable bugger when he started because he was so stressed about winning. he was on the programme on Sunday with Sue barker and came across as a funny and thoroughly likeable chap. Very unlikely to be celebrating someone's injury, unlike the OP, for example.

Jo Konta is the highest seeded woman still in the championship.

She will be playing Venus Williams in the Semi - who she has won five more matches against than she has lost - so you could argue that she is favourite to win that one.

She also has a good record against the other two semi finalists so she really does have a very strong chance of winning the tournament

)

If someone deserves a win they deserve a win, credit where it's due and all that. I'm not sure if my attitude is bred from a sporting background and upbringing but I personally think the world would be a much nicer place if we could appreciate the hard work that goes into getting people where they are, whether it be in the sporting world or any other.

So you're saying the OP supports Sam Querrey? His post isn't celebrating someone else losing? he could have been clearer then.

Maybe he's a betting man. . I think you can support foreign players even if you are British ."

Now I know, and you know, that the OP probably didn't even know who Murray was playing, he was just glad he lost.

Pretty much like the Scots who support any foreign football team who plays England. OP has more in common with the Scots than he was probably hoping for.

"Absolute over the moon he lost , who else has opened up the champagne and celebrating the glorious news ? ??

If another person's failure makes you happy then you are a sad, sad man.

Or just someone who watches sport and supports various people.

Ok you got me. You're on your own OP.

Apparently someone on Twitter called Cheezburger reckons "Novak Djokovic Totally Looks Like Screech from Saved By The Bell"

What does this mean ?

It's a good shout actually, give Djoker an afro and they'd be twins.

I imagine he's already feeling low without 'hung' from 'portsmouth' rubbing it in.

Andy if you log in and read this I hope you get an apology for this.

Did he lose because he was injured? Anyone know

It's a fair assumption to make considering his movement looked severely limited for the last 2 sets.

Bbc breakfast news showed him limping after training yesterday and while I'm no expert to me it looked like he would be struggling a bit today

Any thoughts on the video Wales football made last year when England got knocked out The Euros?

If your an honest person and you support England, you can't grumble, or at least if you did - you shouldn't of.

why? He is not at his best right now . The person who should win is the person who is the best at the game and he is not at his best why he is not winning.

"Novak out too..... "

Just seen it. More sad times.

It brings into question the volume of tournaments that the guys at the top have to play. Is it taking a such a toll on their bodies that they need to play smarter by taking time out at points in the year to prolong their careers?

His personality isn't impressive but I do think the media put him on a very high pedestal. No 1 but I really don't consider him a legend/great like Federer. He has a long way to go

Granted, but what's the likelihood that we'll ever have another British tennis player as good as him or one who has as much success?

Murray's great.

Good sense of humour, doesn't take himself too seriously, great tennis player.

I hope Konta loses the cow.

It's ok I'm just bullshitting.

Of course I want her to win and from what I gather, she's going to.

Interviewer: "Andy, Sam is the first American player to reach the semi-final of a Slam since 2009..."

Andy Murray: "Male player."

That's a horrid attitude.

can't stand the man "

As a ex soldier and proud Scotsman who is also a 100% staunchly pro British patriot I will say he did make a jokey remark but was also proud to win as a Brit at the Olympics and even more so when winning the Davis cup.
