a guy crashed into mine and next doors car when they were parked up at home, mine is an 07 fiesta 12.25cc it has a badly smashed drivers wing, a good size dent in the door and the rear wheel arch is badly dented, a buckled alloy wheel, some scratches on the rear door, car must only be worth £2,000 at most, so I am thinking they will not think it is worth fixing, What do you think ? |

Your probably right, sounds like they will more than likely think it's 'uneconomical to repair' where the cost of repair exceeds 50% of the value of the car.
An insurance assessor will probably examine the car and give a detailed list of damage. It may be that it is a Cat A or B write off and must be scrapped by law.
If it's Cat C it is repairable, insurance may just pay out and take the car. You may have the option to buy it back from them though if you wish to keep it for any reason.

I would agree that's it's going to be written off. If you manage to keep the salivate and repair yourself. Make sure if you sell the vehicle on you tell the buyer. |

it has just been taken away, the guy thinks it will be a wright off, about a £1,000 in just painting before the actual repair work takes place, got a nice 2016 fiesta to run around in I am ok with it being a wright off was not all that keen on the car so fingers crossed for a half decent settlement figure. |

You should have said no take backsies. It's legally binding |

"Gather evidence of cars same as yours for sale do when you get the offer you know what to accept or have evidence to support disputing the offer. "
Get any service history, receipts, mot history and keep them all together it will help add value to the offer they will give you. Make sure the cars and prices are for the same spec as yours, they tried to pull a fast one on me a few years ago giving me book value for a Land Rover S model instead of the HSE there was about £1600 pound difference its little tricks like that they try and get away with. |

"as I thought the car is scrap, but looking on the bright side, they are giving me £600 more than I paid for it about 18 months ago "
How much would it be to buy it back off the insurance?
If you can buy it back, you could always break it out for parts. Every car page I'm on, on Facebook, that's the first questions that's asked if anyone posts about a car written off |

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack! |
Some damage may not be apparent to the untrained eye. It`s only when you can fit a 2 door panel in where a 4 door panel should go that the problem shows! OK, I`m exaggerating but force transferred to door pillars, hinges and the like are difficult to spot at first. |

Definitely a write off.
