It's actually very disturbing.
The elements of extreme bdsm are not arousing - I would deem them as pretty abusive to be honest, consensual or not.
The woman in the film clearly has some serious, perverse issues. I would go as far as saying whether it was intended or not, She is portrayed as being disturbed and even with extremely severe mental health issues. (She leaves her young son alone in his cot whilst she seeks gratification as just 1 example)

I watched parts one and two. Thought it was an ok movie, lot's of food for thought and was uncomfortable viewing at a lot of times.
I liked the way Seligman said to Joe if you had done all these things and were a man, that if there was a gender reversal, you would not feel the guilt and self hatred that society dictates she should feel and did. Some of the debate between the main characters was interesting whether you could understand her behaviours or not. |

oh right.
i tried to watch 'the mothman prophecies' 3 times but fell asleep every time. funny thing was the tagline on the DVD box was 'will keep you awake for weeks' or something like that. |
