I'm studying and getting kinda bored of it so thought I'd share/ask you guys this.
Whats your Basal Metabolic Rate? If you don't know its the amount of calories you use a day just by functioning.
Theres loads of online calculators for it but if you want to do it yourself.
Women - BMR = 655 + 4.35 x weight in lbs) + (4.7 x height in inches) - 4.7 x age in years)
Men - BMR = 66 + (6.23 x weight in lbs) + (12.7 x height in inches) - (6.8 x age in years).
Yes ladies, you need to use your real age and weight, not your fab ones.
I worked out at 5"7' weighing around 82kg mine was 1640.

Actually that's your Resting Metabolic Rate RHR. Your Basal Metabolic Rate is essential the same thing but the term should only be used when the calorie consumed were measured under specific conditions, such as a certain room temperature. |

These are of course only baselines, and activity levels, genetics in general, health and other factors can contribute. it also changes as you lose and gain weight, or even just as your body goes through recomposition when gaining muscle but not changing weight at all.
This ball park figure is great for understanding where to start in a diet, and nothing else. It should be used to see if you're still maintaining or losing weight, and you adjust accordingly. |
