Terracotta Warriors coming to the UK

Just in case anyone would be interested, Liverpool World Museum will be hosting an exhibition next year from February to October, anyone else gunna be checking these out?
I'd love to go the the actual site in China, just to get a scale of the army itself. |

I'm old enough to also remember Blue Peter covering the Tutankhamun exhibition in 1972  . And lucky enough to have seen those particular treasures in Egypt 30 years ago. The Terracotta Army exhibition sounds similarly awesome, I might have to visit Liverpool for the first time ever  |

I did go and see some Egyptian display somewhere around the Tutankhamen exhibition, but can't remember if it was the one I visited. But would definitely love to go and see the Terracotta Army in Liverpool. Will look into that x |

you're very welcome, i'm involved with the museum through the job I do, so will give you a heads up once the tickets go on sale, they've already been overwhelmed with enquiries about it, so looking to be a busy year for the museum once the exhibition opens. |

Wow that is awesome but also for the exhibition people an enormous responsibility to make sure the terracotta army,s welfare is maintained that is a lot of clay models.. Its perhaps the first time the army,s been on exibition away from china?..  |

I saw the programme last night, truly fascinating when you think of the whole scale of things, not just soldiers but horses and chariots and exotic birds made for his gardens, mostly all individual and made by hand. |

Having Googled this quickly, I can't find any info about how many soldiers will be displayed? A handful would be interesting, but to get anywhere near the scale and impact of the army as it stands in China, you'd need hundreds ... I wonder how the museum will set this up? |

I saw the terracotta warriors when I was in China. It was quite the experience. The site is really well done - it was one of the best things I saw in China. Absolutely amazing. But I'm not sure the impact would have been the same on me if they were out of context. This was 13 years ago, though. I imagine the site is painfully crowded these days anyway. |

They are replicas at the Terracotta Army museum in Dorchester, Dorset. I've been there and visited it myself. Just Google it and it's easily found. |

Mirrors. I know this is in no way nearly relevant to something so historic as this but.......I saw a star wars exhibit in New York, the storm troopers costumes were displayed with infinity mirrors, that would be a good idea. |

I went to what may have been a similar exhibition at the British Museum a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Would love to visit China to see the full effect in situ x |

Just thought I’d bump this one, tickets are now on sale to see the exhibition, I’m going March 25, that was the earliest we could get as they’re selling quite quickly. |
