I still have the same personality... just a lot more confidence...

If you've lost weight, how has this affected your personality? If at all..

since having kids i bumphed on over 6 stone, have lost almost 6 stone of that (i think, it's def over 5 anyway). i hate my extra skin. i've seen worse extra skin but still don't like mine.

i'm happier coz i look after myself and feel i value my body, and not just that but i think i deserve to as well. this is coming from someone who used to put everyone else before myself.

I'm really glad you're happier.. I feel the same.. my body used to be something to hide away.. whilst I don't get my kit off at every opportunity.. it doesn't bother me anymore.. x

when my marriage broke down I lost just over 4 stone in 6 months.. that was through stress which I definitely wouldn't recommend!

I was still the same person underneath but due to the nature of the separation, it took me a while to get my confidence back and when it did I joined a swingers site, as my sex drive had gone through the roof

Don't be silly everyone k ow you can only have a good personality if youre fat.

Thin people are all shallow, vein assholes don't you know.

In seriousness congrats on the weight change. Of course it won't change your personality.

Well I have lost over 8 st and have had a few changes to my personality. I was in an abusive marriage that ended S I stood up to him as I was more confident. Now I'm happier, take more care of myself. Wear makeup a nd get my hair done. I'm much more the person I always thought I was but wasn't due to being controlled. And sex drive wise, I had none and avoided it as much as possible, now I have the best sex life ever and mr does too. X

it's only the start I won't be able to keep losing that much but as long as I keep losing ,( even if slowly ) I should be OK. And we'll done op

I've lost about 2 and a half stone. It hasn't changed my personality one bit. I'll be the same when I've lost another 2 and a half stone, only more agile, hopefully. My weight/size/shape has never affected me emotionally or changed my personality.

Some people's personality will be affected.. so people's won't be.. it may be down to how strong, vulnerable or how much of a change has taken place.. I am the same person.. I just have a lot more confidence now.. so my personality has changed.. I've lost 7 stone in total.. this had a big effect on me.. I'm not alone out there.. a lot of people have lost a lot more than me..

In most ways it's been positive in my life..

A world of my own

When I got divorced I dropped down from a size 18 to a size 12. I wish now I was as fat as I thought I was then. I didn't gain any confidence as a result and my personality hasn't ever really changed. Sadly the weight has gone back on over the last 5 years.

I've lost just under 4 and a half stone through stress and anxiety since February. I feel better in my self and it's given me the kick up the arse I need to lose the next 5

I managed to get into some 30" waist trousers today. Haven't don't that since I was about 14.

The trousers combined with the t-shirt I was wearing and I almost asked myself 'FAF?' I've never felt like that before. So much more confidence in myself now as a result.

I dropped around 3 stone last year and it had crept up. I've managed to knock off 7lbs in the past 3 weeks so I'm happy again

I lost 5 stone and I found although I don't hate my appearance when I'm alone and look in the mirror, I've actually become more self conscious in social situations. As a bigger guy I assume people didn't look at me because I probably wasn't most appealing which meant I could be me more. Now I compare myself to all around me haha. Weird huh?

2 years ago I was blissfully unaware I'd sneaked up to nearly 21 stonne.

After getting myself down to 14 and a half stonne I was taken very ill for 5 months and in the time i was off I gained 2 stonne.

I'm now in the middle of getting that off again (1 stonne gone)

I feel so much better for it but I hate my torso as its basically been stretched and shrunk beyond repair.

I do feel so much more confident though and am now trying to get back into the swing of things (pun intended!) And have been purposely taking my time.

Just expensive replacing your whole wardrobe

I did the same. When I was massive I was invisible. Then I lost weight and people noticed me but I didn't like that. Found myself again. Happier now.

When I put on 9 stone my husband would call me a fat doughnut eating cunt. It didn't bother me one bit. I became conscious of my body after I put on weight and left him. I've found that men like confidence, no matter what I weigh.

It's funny - I have been fatter and people have said that I look awful or gaunt now I'm not. I don't agree though. Sometimes you confuse your body image with your size.

When I got ill and lost a couple of stone ( I started off at 9 and a half) my sister in law said I looked like a rat, because my face was so gaunt.

I think it's because they are unused to seeing you a certain way. I'm now at 12-15% bodyfat which isn't overweight, but it isn't too low for a guy either.

I've lost 4 stone this past year and for me, I feel more confident, I feel sexy. It's great wearing smaller clothes, and I know I look great now!

I'm still me, but I'm so happy!

At one stage I was a size 22. It's hard work but I love the new me!

I'm a work in progress.

I have 50lbs to lose.

I want to go from a size 18 to a size 12.

I have done it before and I felt amazing!

Someone said above that being a large person made them invisible- thats exactly how I feel.

I dont think it will change my personality - I just hope it will give me more confidence.

Congratulations on 7st OP thats amazing!

There and to the left a bit

Lost three and a half stone since 2015 and whilst it's crept up a little recently it's under control.

Wouldn't say my personality has changed as such but definitely feel a lot better about myself.
