Having a moan. Been 3 years and he's now finished uni for good and taken up full time residence back in the family home.

now eating all the food, milk left out, lights/tv left on, dirty clothes dropped and left, bedroom a tip, in bed all day, never clears up, treats home like student digs, I'll do it later, stop going on etc etc

So who's also been blessed with their return

Ours are both gone for good.

I feel your pain though. Educated to degree level but unable to find the clothes basket

Ha! I remember my mum begging me to come back for a weekend. One day later she'd be asking when I was leaving again...

one step at a time. Our daughter was dreadfully untidy. The carpet in her room was pristine because it had so rarely been walked on due to being covered in clothes for the best part of the 13 years we lived in that house. It didn't extend to the rest of the house fortunately.

now my daughter has her own place with he bf she is very house proud - has actually done the sorry i was a messy cow thing to me as she realises how much work there is to do - she started like this when she shared a house with some really messy girls - she had to clean up before she could happily shower or cook herself a meal they were that bad -

Pretty sure they will be wanting their independence soon enough - like you again. Though I do wish them luck with these new debts

Our daughter's the same. Her flat is probably tidier than our house. Her partner is very orderly I think that helped.
