Good morning,
Whilst driving to work this morning I've encountered what I can only describe as 'nincompoops' on the road, i.e. drivers with bad habits that are really annoying.
Fabbers what bad driving habits really annoy you?
I'll start....at a busy roundabout turning to the right waiting pull out a white van behind me intimidating me to make me pull out quicker when I realistically I cant....aarrgghh.

Hogging middle or outside lane on Mway, or on dual carriageway staying in outside lane because in 6 miles time they are going to turn right?
Lorries tailgating, especially on Mway when average speed camera controlling your speed

Bad lane discipline on roundabouts, no indication, tail gating, indicating to pull over but still creeping along slowly for ages and stop looking at your bloody passenger when you talk to them keep your eyes on the blooming road! |

1.Excessive hesitation.
2. Lack of observation or awareness of other road users
3. People who try to drive down a road too narrow for two cars as you're halfway up it then lack the brain power to reverse back.
4. Rickshaws |

Driving at 20mph through traffic control roundabouts on a 40mph stretch Only letting one car through at a time.
All cos they can't be bothered to drive at correct speed and brake if needed. |

Peoplwle who buy cars tgen don't add the optional extra indicators to the thing. Fucks me right off.
Oh and wankers in cars who refuse to do over 50 on a motorway so 40 tonners have to overtake the pricks thus slowing down 2 lanes of taffic.
"Stay on the A roads you set of fucking toolbags"
Rant over for now |

People hogging the middle lane, which is now an offence.
Fog lights on when it's raining, if you can see normal car lights half a mile ahead of you then you really don't need them on, plus front figs on all the time, also an offence and a £30 fine.
Mobile phone use..goes without having to say.
Not using an on slip road properly and expecting lane 1 users to give way to them, even when it's not possible.
On approaching road works which go down to one lane, those who speed down the other lanes to the front, which is the main cause of tail backs (Domino effect)...if they just got into the correct lane then traffic would flow more easily.
People looking at you like you're breaking the law if you undertake them (it's actually legal so long as the vehicle undertaking is already in the inside lane and doing the legal limit for the road they're on)
Think I'll stop there...

All of these plus the lack of lane discipline on roundabouts. It's a roundabout - if all lanes are full, don't try to straighten off the bends! |

It's called a ROUNDABOUT which means you go around in your lane not cut up the people on the inside that are turning right I had my car smashed up at the beginning of this year because some twat in the outside lane going straight over decided to cut through my lane and ended up on my bonnet! |

Inconsiderate drivers who think getting to there destination is more important than pedestrians getting across the road and not giving way. (its really no different to holding the door open for someone, but sadly so many people get behind the wheel of a car and leave manors and sense on the pavement. I have a couple of friends that drive like that but are Allso cyclist and get annoyed with other drivers who drive exactly like them when behind the wheel. |

Poor lane discipline at roundabouts.
White van men that crawl along at 15mph trying to find somewhere, then just stop dead.
Biggest bugbear is drivers of so called high performance cars (used to be exclusively BMW, Audi, Merc but now includes Range Rovers), who think that indicators are optional, and cutting up the norm! |

Drivers who dont know (or care) how to pass a horse or cyclist safely and considerately.
I'm neither a horse or bicycle rider but I don't consider them to be the enemy like some people do.
None of us owns the road. |

I pulled out turning right last week looking left all the way and almost crashed into this woman diving the opposite way, nod and a wave, little reverse but no she gets out and rants at my window for a whole minute about why I almost crashed into her and how I wasn't looking in her direction and I should pay more attention to driving and roads and yak yak yak...I calmly rolled down my window and she declared... Well what do you have to say for yourself.
Small pause.
Your right I wasn't looking your way.... Your a disgraceful driver.. No I wasn't looking your way while pulling out because the road is one way madam, your driving the wrong way down a one way road!.
I don't think I've seen someone go quite that red before |

Many years ago I also followed another woman out of the filing station and down this A road where I busily flashed and honked her for about ten minutes... In the end I even started waving at her frantically out of my window... Pull over, pull over.
She eventually stopped in the middle of the road blocking all the traffic and gave me a right mouthful about patience and its an A road and she was doing 50!!.
I said no, its not that and pointed over to her car roof where she had left her handbag while filling.
We both just broke out laughing |

I went on a course recently and a colleague drove. Comong back it's Friday afternoon we're on the M1 on a variable speed limit section. Max speed is 50. We're doing 50 8n the outside lane. A builders van is doing a couple of miles an hour faster. Van is getting increasingly aggressive that she won't pull in to the middle labe and let them pass. My colleague doggedly refuses to pull in. This goes on for at least 5 miles.
Not sure which one pissed me off most but it was pretty fucking scarey as I was conconceded if we stopped the guys in the van would kick off |

Boy racers in there Corsa's and Fiesta's thinking there driving a Lamborghini and wanting to race everyone not to mention the ridiculous loud exhausts they put on them. Not a massive fan of bicycles on road either especially when they cycle at side of each other in middle of the road not leaving room for people in cars to overtake. Ooooo the joys and I've got to go out soon definitely probably cursed myself now be a traffic jam with boy racers and cyclists no doubt |

People who pull out, to turn left or right, sometimes from car parks or T junctions, but block the lane, waiting for a space. Wait in your original location, until there is a free space, don't be selfish and dangerous!
Overtaking lane hogs who are not overthinking, on dual carriageways and motorways.
Not using indicators.
In general people who have a problem who want to create problems for others by helping to get rid of their own. |

Yes u think compulsory retests for those who lose their licence would make more sense than retesting everyone. Compulsory eye tests would be good too |

I hate those white van driver types who are always going to fast and in a rush... yeah I know you have a fecking job to go to but do not intimate me when you are driving like a lunatic and endangering other people.
Also, can't stand motorcyclists who drive insanely fast and think the speed limit does not apply to them. Go to an early grave if you want to but do not endanger me or others thanks. |

Motorway middle lane drivers grrrrrr.
Even now we have spent 6 gazillion pounds and 100 years of roadworks upgrading to 4 lanes, people just use the outside right lanes and now we have 2 empty LH lanes instead.
Bring back hanging for lane hoggers. Firm but fair. |

"Tailgating me on my bike. If I have to slam the anchors on, I'm probably dead " Had that happen to me a good few years ago, off work for months. These days I take the approach that the closer someone gets the slower I go until they back off. As I see it if they are too close then I want less of an impact when they do hit me. (Yes cars brakes have improved, but most of the feet on the peddles haven't. )
As for what pisses me off, lack of patience and lack of manes, we are all trying to get somewhere, we may as well be civil about it.

"People who are intimidating and impatient with learner drivers - we weren't born knowing how to drive!!"
It's worse when they behave like that to new drivers displaying P plates. The safety net of the driving instructor and dual controls is no longer there and driving on your own can be quite scary to start with. Add that to having to learn to get used to a new car.
The last thing you need is some prick harassing you and beeping at you for not breaking the speed limit or making sure you actually do have space to get out of a junction safely! |

main one is road about
left lane = left and across
right lane = right
the right lane person thinks i skip the queue if i get in right lane then push back across to go across.
i block everyone who trys it, matching the exact fast pull away speed so they have to get behind me.

"Omg the motor bikes and quad bikes need I say more"
Yes, I think you do...
We've found that bikers are some of the most observant and respectful, and best, drivers (riders really) out there. Sadly it's the tiny minority of idiots that give them a bad name.
I was on the M6 a few days ago. As I left and entered the roundabout, I saw three helmets approaching from the left (because of the grass verve I couldn't see their trikes.) Two of the riders managed to enter the roundabout safely before I was close, but the third wasn't going to have time.
Seeing they were clearly in convoy, and that there was nothing else behind me, I slowed slightly and waved the third guy through. He raised his hand in thanks.
When I got the the petrol station along the road to fill up, they happened to be there doing the same. The guy approached me and said thank you for noticing he was there, recognising that he'd want to stay in convoy and for letting him out.
See? Not all riders are idiots. |

Sainsbury's roundabout in Leek. The lanes might as well not exist. It's that bad that I'm actually surprised when someone goes around it following the lanes rather than going straight on by cutting through the right turn lane.
And why is it that when you sound your horn at these pricks, they look at you as though you are in the wrong. Well, excuse me for having lane discipline. |

The tossers who fanny about driving dangerously and unnecessarily slow (which by the way you can also be fined for) e.g. 30 in a 60, straight clear road in perfect weather with no obstructions or problems of any kind.
Then when you overtake and are indicating to inform them you are pulling in again, they speed up and either:
a) Go that fast they cut you off and you have to pull out of your overtaking manoeuvre just as you are about to complete it. Then when you're behind them again the slow down or even slam the brakes on.
b) Allow you to overtake, but then drive almost bumper to bumper up your behind at 60 for miles in end.
These twats should be shot. |
