Pound World, literally just got back from shop, £1 for two large dog treatments and they're made by Bob Martins, I checked.
Like most products we buy, the cheaper version is probably exactly the same as the more expensive one from the same factory production line.

The bomb things for the house are rubbish, they don't kill the fleas and all the eggs so they just come back. The best stuff is a spray treatment, I buy indorex or staykill brand. For treating the cats I buy effipro spot on treatment which is better than frontline and cheaper. I get everything online from medic animal (just google it, I can't share a link). The household stuff costs a tenner for a large can enough to do the whole house 3 or 4 times, the spot on treatment is 8 quid for 4 pipettes. |

Bob Martin is rubbish, it doesn't work. Plus if a dog flea treatment is used on a cat it can be very harmful, even fatal. Dog fleas are a different species to cat fleas and the insecticide can kill cats.
It is interesting to know that dog fleas cannot survive on cats but cat fleas can live perfectly happily on dogs! |

Right don't shoot me here
Truth is you can treat your cat and dog all you want ,they will not go away just by doing your pets
You have to do the whole house ,car etc ....indorex from your vets will spray your whole house for under£20 ...you will still have to sort your pets as well but indirect is what you really need to work alongside it |

Bob Martin stuff is horrendous. We used collars on our previous cats and it stripped their skin of fur and caused severe reactions akin to burns. |

My mum has lung disease so I can't use the sprays so I went on the Internet to see if I could use alternative remedies. It said to use salt. So I bought loads of cheap tubs of salt from the supermarket and covered every carpet in the house and soft furnishings. Left overnight, hoovered the next day and did the trick. It kills the fleas but also hardens the shells of the eggs embedded in the carpets etc. I now do this once a week. I didn't think it would work but it did. I think it costs me £2 a week. Also I treat my cats with advantage once a month. |

Op I feel your pain.
Despite regularly treating with spot on we seem to be fighting a battle with the little beasts at the moment.
We keep spraying the house as well as treating the cats but a few weeks later they're back.
I'm considering buying some diatomaceous earth to try sprinkling on the floors then hoovering.

The cheapest formula isn't necessarily the best so it's a pointless exercise totting up the expenses. We do it because we love our pets. |

Years ago there was a flea epidemic, so I took my cat to the vet. It cost me £52 for the check up, house spray, a spray for the cat and stuff you put in the cat's food to make the fleas infertile. I can't remember what it was called but it worked. After a while the areas where my cat goes would be rid of fleas too, the vet said. |

Jesus I didn't mean to start arguments about a bloody moan. Yes is it stuck in my throat but as I stated I love the furry buggers so I'd pay time and time again like anyone else. No need for quibbles and nastiness,it was a silly moan blog as at a wild guess this time of year other pet owners are having the same issues and all feel the same about there furry friends as I do! |

No it`s not!! We`ve wasted so much on Bob Martins stuff and it`s mostly useless! The spray of powders merely curb the fleas for a few days then they`re back again. Frontline works, yes, expensive but it does work! Don`t forget a decent carpet spray too!

We rehomed a rescue dog a few months back and she's cost us a fortune already.
She's bonkers and a right pickle but she's well worth the expense. We wouldn't be without her now.
