Recent Veris... Offputting or Not?
Jump to: Newest in thread
I've noticed whenever I receive a new veri (of any type... ), or indeed verify someone else, that I'm inundated with mail and meet requests for days afterwards, whereas if someone contacts me and I see that they have a fresh verification (same day or a day or two previous) it immediately puts me off (I think 'serial meeter').
Just interested to hear other people's views (both sexes) on this. |

I don't get messages but a lot of views from men when I get verified
Some women have asked me not verify and of course being a gentleman I always say you don't have to verify me if you don't want to, I am real I think |

But do you feel the urge to chat to and arrange a meet with someone who has recently published a veri?? This is what intrigues me.... |

Nope but if I really liked them I will wait a few days and message. I don't want to compete with there last meet
If only arranging meets was that easy |

It wouldn't put me off.
As long as they have regular checks and are safe then no. It's more important we are compatible etc.
I can't actually tell if I'd get more messages as all my filters are usually on unless I'm in a thread where messaging is needed.
So I don't get many messages on here anyway.

i'm the same though, put off by veris, usually who the person is rather than when they met them."
But surely they can tell that anyway?? Why the increased interest after a new veri is my point.
I get the 'who' thing too though, I have a few I won't cross-meet with, no matter how much I like someone... Seeing their name in a prospective meet's veri list works better than a bucket of icy water |

I just hate the whole veri system, I find it on the whole a negative thing. I hate writing and receiving them and as for displaying them not a chance of that happening. I find reading others veris ranges from nauseating to eye rolling at best. I've written them in the past for the person I've met not for general viewing because to anyone else they would be viewed in the same light as I view the ones I've read. I will be attending the lounge social next week and have had several conversations regarding veris following the event. Veris from socials are the ones I enjoy reading and I will therefore be sending a few afterwards. The system needs an overhaul, the categories of verification aren't diverse enough and maybe tick boxes are sufficient for verification purposes. Not marks out of ten either as it's clear we all want and enjoy different things. I have on occasion thought I'd accidentally ended up on the stories and fantasies section of the forum rather than a veri on a profile. In answer to your question, I just find veris put me off regardless of when a meet was, where or with whom |

I don't really go by veris but I'm more put off by people with loads of them over a short period of time. I will put my hands up and admit those ones I tend avoid like the plague. |

I don't take much notice of verifications, except when they have loads from social events. I don't see the point in having 40 verifications telling us he's a nice bloke/she's a nice woman. |

I find the concept weird anyway (this isn't trip advisor) but recent or a large number I find off putting. All to their own, I just don't think I would have much in common attitude wise with that person. May be wrong.

I notice that when I display a veri that I get views from people on friends list
I guess they are checking out the review or who I have played with
For me it's actually if I put a club review, I also notice reviews go up a lot |

Ok I've never thought about it TBH however I do get put off by what the veri says or who the person is who's left the said veri.
Just wandering if say you met someone they left a veri the next day would you not converse or reply to any messages for how long? 2-3 days? A week? 2 weeks ? Truly curious as I've never thought about it in that way |

you definitely met recently.men are likely looking for that more than anything else.
plus showing veris puts you on the homepage, so many guys who might have missed that previously can now find you.
my fanny shrivels up when i see certain people yeah, haha. |

Not my style but I'm guessing that when you have posted a recent veri that others see such a woman as an easier target for contact and meeting, compared to the many who never reply to them. Especially if they think they're as good as, or better than, whoever you've met.
People look for short-cuts and easier options |

A recent veri will put you at the top of the local updates page, hense you're getting meets.
A recent verification doesn't make you a slur, a hundred recent veris maybe, but not one. |

If I choose to meet someone I ask them to not verify me. Even if it's only a social. Reason being is I have enough verifications to prove I do meet when I say I do, I turn up, I make an effort and I'm very much real! Lol.
As for past sexual meets, I ask them go verify me based on their impression of me as a person. Not mention sex at all because that's private between us and to put it bluntly...no one else's business lol.
I don't like guys verifications which are very sexually detailed. What he and that woman liked, I may not. Us women may have the same buttons, but we often enjoy them pressed in different ways |

No. I did read a verification once that put me off. I stopped reading verifications after that.

I've never really paid attention to the attention that new verifications get on here - though, the last person who verified me is from the West Midlands, and for a few days afterwards, I was getting a lot of fabs from people in that area of the country.
I disagree about recent verifications being off putting - I've recently met and been verified by two profiles in the same weekend... that doesn't indicate we had an orgy. |

We joined fab to help us have swinging fun with other people.
We aren't prolific meeters, but have had occasions when we've met midweek and weekend and horror of horrors played with more than one couple in a night at clubs.... We've also had gaps were we've not done any meets for a few weeks.
If someone is put off by us having sex with someone else, then them several days later, we are on a different page and perhaps not going to click anyway.
Nothing wrong with that choice.or feeling, everybody is different. |

Yes I thought the same... I really don't get this logic. So I can meet every month last year and I'm fine, last week and nah he's a serial meeter. This is a swingers site for people to meet and have all types of shananegans! What's the time frame got to do with it... Each to their own I guess..
But yep, as someone has already said you get more views simply because you appear in the local updates section as well as friends and hotlists too. |

Actually I have multiple club, social and party veris (none of which are play veris), at least 50% of my veris are from people I've chatted to at organised social events, and the veris usually pop up within minutes/hours of each other. They're usually pretty straightforward with no bullshit. If someone writes me a veri insinuating anything more than that I simply don't publish it. Its a pet peeve when someone hints at knowing me more intimately than they actually do. Again, I wouldn't be rushing to get drawn into new conversations after an event either... I'm usually too tired from all the travel!!! |

veris can be a useful part of the toolbox when making a judgement on whether you want to meet someone but as an indicator of how often someone meets theyre useless...they could have met 4 different people in one day but only one has verified...we look like we go for months without playing but just don't do the repeat veri thing with our regular friends...and those people we meet and play with at clubs or parties who aren't on fab...use all kinds of measures to make your judgements but veris aren't a very reliable one... |

In answer to your question, I just find veris put me off regardless of when a meet was, where or with whom
But have you met anyone though? You could still be fake/male ? No profile pic.
Verifications help in some ways and hinder in others.
There's no right or wrong, just our own opinions. "
Yes that's true and there are also lots of fantasists so I'm led to believe. But again it's all about opinion and no amount of veris and pics actually mean someone is who they portray themselves to be |

Meeting is what the site is about, surely? At least they are verified
It honestly doesn't bother us when their last displayed veri is from
Is it any better if they waited a month or however long before messaging you? It would be the same veri.
Might as well get the ball rolling as arranging calendars could mean it's a while before you can meet |

Ive noticed the same. I think it makes them realise you are real and do meet.
Like you though I do wonder why people who just got a new veri are messaging me, Im looking for someone who wants regular fun so for them to instantly be looking for their next meet is a turn off. |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
The verification may have been written days or weeks after the meet. People might choose to hold them back and then publish later or never publish them at all.
I'd never tell anyone what to write but I have the ability to choose not to publish. I have experienced someone telling another exactly what to write and I find it a bit controlling.
I like the verifications I get from socials and like to read other social verifications. Lots of people saying someone is nice, in different ways, makes me feel comfortable about that person.
If I meet lots of people for sex all close together, choose to display the verifications they leave and others decide not to meet me, that's their business.
As others have said, I may choose not to meet someone based on verifications and that's my prerogative. I prefer that they are there than not.
Along with other types of shaming I find verification shaming a little distasteful.

Exactly this
I've had 3 guys mail me today who were verified by play meet within the past 24 hours. It just made me wonder if I was unique in finding that offputting. Its been interesting hearing other viewpoints though. |
