It's in direct contradiction with his stance on medical care for his own people.
Much like everything he does and says, there is no substance, long term benefit to anyone or thought for anyone outside himself. |

We spent a month at Great Ormond Street Hospital with our daughter and we were slightly nearer to the family that was involved personally I think every child matters which is the motto at Great Ormond Street Hospital and I think also with Charlie he has a right to live |

It did make me a bit angry, if I'm honest. With the Republican health care bill millions of Americans will lose their health care (that they pay for, as it still isn't a nationalized health service). Then Trump has the audacity to offer free experimental medical care, very expensive medical care, to a British family? Yeah, it stings. |

To be honest it stinks in the way you have said but also....my opinion only!
It stinks that he is building the parents hopes up by offering this.
It has been through every court possible and rightly or wrongly a decision has had the same outcome from the courts.
I think he is just meddling in affairs that he has no jurisdiction over to boost his onwards ego. |

I had similar thoughts.
I doubt the offer would be made to a Muslim or Mexican family.
I don't believe GOSH are doing anything they don't think is right for the child. As a woman who has lost a son I don't think prolonging all life at whatever cost, financial and emotional, is the best thing.
I feel for the family as they will live with this and whatever happens next for the rest of their lives. It's not something you get over. Trump making this offer just adds to the turmoil if emotions and pain they will always feel. If, as is likely, GOSH block this in the interests of the child they will be condemned by many. Trump will look heroic and compassionate and continue to let Americans die just because they are poor. |
