My facefook is full of people going out for full weekends of birthday merriment, a kaleidoscope of cocktails, wardrobes full of fancy outfits and "birthday nails"?? (How is this even a thing?)
And here is me thinking "shit, its my birthday tomorrow, does that mean I have to wash my hair in case there are visitors? Will I be expected to smile? Urgh!"
Does anyone else seem to do this birthday thing all wrong? |

I spent my last birthday in a pool of tears and a pit of depression, not feeling like I could handle life. And then I had to work a night shift. Not properly celebrated a birthday for 4 years now. |

Last year I pigged out in my pjs, alone. Was perfect |

Totally, but then again, I always think the people who force their mates to celebrate for a whole week/weekend are a bit egotistical and self-centred x
I just rise above it xx |

I don't celebrate my birthdays. It's just another day.
Cards are welcome from my nearest and dearest.
Can never understand people who take the day off work either?? |

I don't even want cards! The only thing I do is take a day off work.
Never been interested in Birthday celebrations in my life. |

My logic for this, is, I wasn't born and immediately put to work so I'll be damned if I spend the day working when in '76 the world became a better place |

I've gotta say I'm guilty of being like the people on your Facebook OP, but I've always been someone who loves a good night and so are all of my friends. We all like to celebrate each others birthdays whether it be a night out, a meal or even a weekend away. It's just the norm to us but I do respect not everybody else is like that. |

I never care enough to do anything for my birthday. People made a big deal when I did nothing for my 30th this year. Meh, I had music, tea and peace and quiet. I was happy with that. |

Totally feel the same, it's just another day for me. Last time I was forced to celebrate my birthday was my 50th. My children made a big thing out of it because my marriage had ended a few weeks before and they wanted to make me happy, this year I'm not sure what's happening as it depends on mr and his shifts. But will see x |

Its YOUR birthday, you're allowed to do what you want.
Stay in your pj's all day, binge watch your fave tv series, eat as much chocolate as humanly possible.
Whatever you decide will be fine with those who matter. x |

Hmmmm... It'll be the big four-oh for me in not so many months... I've got folks expecting me to have a party when all I feel I really wish to do is drive or fly off to a beach with some decent surf for a few days. Maybe have a couple of close friends along too.
That probably isn't too different from what I would wish for most days though |

A study concluded that FB was potentially bad for your health, it was like trying to sort out your new year's eve, 365 days of the year! |
