So this girl I know and have met before wants to go out, but everytime she wants to go anywhere it's somewhere really expensive and she makes absolutely no indication as to putting her hand in her pocket to pay for anything. Now I'm not saying I'm a tight bastard, far from it. But do you think this is the norm?
Ladies, do you think the bloke should foot the bill for getting to spend time with you?
Should this be a 50-50 deal? |

How many times has it happened?
Are you in the FB zone or just the friends zone.
Friends zone.....50:50 woth the occasional...'dont worry I'll get this'

I think it depends on the financial situations of both involved and communicating about it.
I've had meets while jobless and skint, which was discussed beforehand and they offered to pay my way. However, with my last meet I had more money so we were able to split costs more fairly - like he got the first round in at lunch, I got the second in and paid for lunch, he paid for snacks in the evening and I contributed towards breakfast in the morning, and I far prefer doing it like that. |

I always offer to pay 50/50. I'd feel obliged if I didn't plus it's good manners.
If he then puts his foot down I'll back off.
Of course if he was a multi millionaire then I'd happily let him pay if he insisted... actually no. Probably even then I'd offer.

Tell her she can choose the location of the date if she's paying...if she expects you cough up to then it's your choice.
But if you're not that into her (as it sounds) then why even bother?  |
