Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

The man who encouraged me to watch films closely and not just as images on the screen.

Film xyear is always him, for me.

Yeah sad news always had a cheeky glint in his eye and a warm smile.

Enjoy the show upstairs Mr Norman.

And why not?

Pretty much his catchphrase.

I remember staying up late to watch his film review show.

As important to the British film revival as any director or actor. As the OP state, he encouraged a generation to go to the movies with his reviews. Laid back, warm and insightful. Almost like a friend recommending (or not in some instances) to go to the movies.

Thank you Mr Norman.

They've just shown his Spitting Image puppet on the news. I'd forgotten that.

Bham

Loved his show. Especially when getting into movies in the 90s.

And he made some pretty good pickled onions too.
