Does any ladies out there know how to stop your period once it has just started.
Only to play with my partner as it's the weekend and I feel a huge sulk coming on.
I have the tablets norethisterone
But only started taking yesterday and must be early (( |

norethisterone will stop it but maybe not in time if you are not bleeding heavily you might be able to use a sponge tampon, you can have sex with those inside. I am on the depo injection so no longer have periods but I have used Beppe and Joy division sponge tampons before |

Okay, I can only describe my own experience ... I'm obviously *not* medically qualified, and I don't know your medical history or any contraindications, so please take this as info only.
I got my damn period several days early, the day before a long planned meet and was pretty fed up about it. I did *a lot* of Googling in a panic and found that an increased dose of Norethisterone had stopped things for *some* women, if the flow hadn't got too heavy. I decided to try this as I couldn't find any anecdotal evidence of side effects .... and took 2 (instead if 1) Norethisterone tablets 3 times that day, plus the day of the meet. I took the chance based on reading about other women's experiences and, so far as I could figure, because I had no other health concerns. I stopped taking them the day after.
And it worked for me .... there was no sign of blood at all on the second day. 'At least' even if it doesn't work, you won't have to have an embarrassing discussion about your menstrual cycle with someone you've never met before like I did! |

I went to my gp some years ago obviously asking if anything could be done to stop my period while I was on holiday. I was taking the mini pill at the time and it would arrive without warning. He phoned the gynaecologist at the local hospital to check and she said the only way to stop bleeding once it had started was to use a very high dose of norithesterone or to take it for the entire two weeks. She said she would not recommend either option as the side effects could be dangerous.
Obviously from your experience side effects don't always occur but its not something I would risk. |
