How is 2017 for you?

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

We've reached the middle of 2017! I know!

Had my mid year review with my manager at work yesterday. Most of what we discussed I was happy with. It's been a busy start to the year.

How has the first half of the year been for you? Are you where you want to be? Workwise? Lifewise?

Did you set any Fab new year resolutions? How are they going?

Feel free to ask for some 360 degree feedback from the rest of the team

It's a struggle, not where I'd wanted to be yet. But there's still time to hit the targets.

A rollercoaster so far - it's had its ups and it's had its downs...and it's going too damned fast for my liking!!

So far so good. I have my own place after a bad break up. I've lost weight, put on a bit of muscle mass (not alot but its there) and I got a pretty huge payrise at work after I told them I was leaving to work for another company and had a great holiday with my closest friends

Hope everyone elses is going just as well

Workwise - yes! Grad scheme done and dusted.

Lifewise - yes! I'm incredibly happy.

Yep, I'm winning at life so far this year.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

3 holidays down, 2 to go!

Its gone pretty much as expected. I'm coming up to the one year anniversary of my promotion, and my boss is pleased so far (I still fuck up from time to time though). I've hit my 50th birthday without any major health problems. My daughter is healthy and happy, as is the rest of my family, and I'm having lots of fun. Not Fab fun, but then I've never defined my life by this place.

Meh. Everything is pretty much standard.

Work? Standard.

Life? Standard.

Fab? Ok but too busy to meet. Hopefully in August I can start again

It has been an excellent year in many ways.

Retiring soon and enjoying my hobbies. More bike touring and gigging.

Well the year started off positive, was going ok though certain things could have been better. Then bang my world imploded.

So dealing with the fallout from that and all it's complications but getting there. Otherwise fab life is going very well. And trying to sort some other things out. Not where I wanted to be but getting towards something near it x

On an upward curve though so fingers crossed it's a positive end to the year

Toughest year in a while so far. Lost 2 good friends, had to have emergency surgery, have to move house, got turned down for 31 jobs, and don't even get me started on my disastrous fab life lol.

The next 6 months have a lot to make up for

Work's an absolute disaster, but I wrote that all off some time ago. I'm well past caring. It's now just a case of finding something else to move onto. That is actually quite an exciting thing in itself.

Everyday life has been a mixed bag. I've gone though one of the toughest periods I've ever gone through in my entire life, that's made me re-evaluate everything. Weirdly while going through all of that I've also experienced the greatest highs of my life. I'm currently in the best place I've ever been in personally. And I get the feeling that the best is yet to come

London

Good:

Personal life is calm as usual.

Work-life is less stressful.

Manage to clear all mortgages/loans - only my current house loan left.

A promotion and pay-rise, less than I expected and deserve, but a promotion nonetheless.

Lucky to get 2 long (3 weeks) holidays to go back to the UK/Europe this year (April & October : fab meets..yay).

Bad :

Appreciation of Euro and (relative) GBP to my currency. So traveling is a bit more expensive.

Verdict:

First half of 2017 : good not great, but thankful still.

2017, well so far it's ok. Back into the full time work lark, money wise, still needs tweaking and mixed bag of fab meets. Still very single and would like to change that but that will happen.

So overall it's not too bad at all.

Fab wise I haven't put any effort in so no results there, hoping to change that in the later part of the year, work wise the pay rise was more than expected, so well pleased with that personal wise May was a bitch, lost 2 good friends in a light aircraft crash after completing a charity challenge in Scotland, struggling with that

So far I think it's been pretty solid.

Work wise: Promoted, although it feels like I've lost some of my mojo -- can't quite put my finger on it.

Life wise: In many ways this six months has been the most turbulent, but I feel as if I'm winning and I remain happy if not a little wobbly every now and again.

Real life.....so so......had a holiday of a life time and has opened a few wounds. Had a great time but has made me realise im missing things in my own life.....struggling but will get there. My son dropped a bombshell which if it happens will devastate me but know he is right.

Fab life.....again has had its disappointments.

All in all both worlds has knocked my confidence but life does that every now and then and ive been here before and survived
