I could tell I was in love when I was with my best friend. The relationship went well when we took the next step but the love for her blinded me from the cracks that started to show over the following months.
It even got to the point where I was pressured to either choose her or my family. I didn't want to make that chose so she decided to break my heart by ending the relationship and cutting ties altogether. |

I thought I loved my husband of 30 years. I don't know if it was love or me wanting the happy ever after.
My long term partner declared he loves me, a couple of days ago. I can't understand why he loves me. |

I didn't feel anything like that with my husband. I felt secure and where I belonged. I realise now that I didn't feel wanted or cherished. |

I think you have a good idea that you're in love when you are having a shitty day and just picturing their face makes you smile that stupid smile and count down the hours til you get to kiss them and hold them tight makes everything pale in comparison.  |

I look at my husband and still think he's the sexiest man alive after 25 years together, he's my best friend and no one makes me laugh like him. Fantastic sex life.
As for love, I knew I loved him after only being together a few weeks, all I wanted to do was spend all my time with him and still feel the same way. Can't say why or how I knew, just knew. |

The problem is that infatuation gives you such a heady mix of rollercoaster emotions and such strong feelings of atttraction, it is easy to confuse that with being in love. |

When every little thing done together becomes a meaningful moment. And when a fizzing burst of elation from just a hug rushes through you.

This is where all the trouble starts.
I've said 'I love you too' several times (too many in fact) when the correct answer would have been 'Thanks but,no thanks'.
All respect to those couples who stay together for 20,,,30,,,40 years but I suspect inertia is a more accurate explanation for this than 'love'. |

I was in love for 5yrs it took another 5yrs to get over her.Still think of her today and that's after 30yrs.Don't fall in love if you can help it otherwise it will crucify you for the rest of your life. |
