Steve Wilhite (who created the GIF) says it's pronounced "JIF", so I guess the correct pronunciation is up to him.
Think I'll carry on saying GIF though. |

It's an acronym not an inisalisation.
So it's pronounced as a word in its own right.
Ie nhs is an initialisation as you say N H S.
An acronym though you say as if it was a word like gif.
I say gif but jif is correct |
