If I see this phrase or similar in a profile, it would give me the impression that the person is lacking in self confidence about his/her own worth, and it could put me off that person.

This applies to FAB as well as profiles in the vanilla dating world.

Does anyone else feel the same I wonder?

No, I think that they think it, but are attributing it to someone else, so as not to sound (too) vain!

.

It then makes him/her vain by including it in his/her profile IMHO.

Perhaps I am being too harsh as usual!

No, I think so too. It wouldn't put me off them completely though, unless they had gone too far with these type of comments in their profile.

That's something I say a few times I think - on here and on other vanilla dating sites. I can't speak for other people but I use that phrase because there's a fine line between selling yourself and coming across as arrogant and vain. Just as noone likes to read a profile where they haven't sold themselves, neither do you want to read a profile which is all just bragging.

"I'm told that..." is just a way of saying "I think this is one of my better features and other people seem to agree so I might be onto something".

Then again, maybe it's jsut a lazy way of bragging... hmmmm methinks my profile might need a re-jig

Another way to achieve a thread or post being removed is to instigate a thread, or comment on "say" this one, in a style which registers lament pertaining to the previous thread... Thus removed...

{Ruggers will interject....;-);-)}

Agree, I think that too...and it would put me off them as they'd come across as disingenuous.

I dont think it makes people sound vain, what annoys me is when people say 'perhaps I am being to harsh as usual'
