What English words that you know of are no longer being used or have never been commonly used?

Refrigerator is the first one I can think off, fridge is so much better to say.

the good old English word - gaol

now all most totally replaced by the American corruption - jail.

Indeed - many of our words are becoming obsolete due to the spread of "American" language - particularly amongst the yoof innit

Actually I though fridge came from 'Frigidaire', the US trade name. Maybe American Gods will be along soon to let us know.
