I've got H off school today so we decided on a little road trip to go and see the oldest tree in Wales. It's thought to be at least 3,000 years old but possibly 5,000. It's middle section has rotted away so it can't easily be dated but it is still alive. It's in llangerwy church yard should anyone like to see it.

So what is the oldest thing you have seen recently?

The heritage coast from penarth to ogmore in south wales.

Some lovely views there and so old..so long in the making.

I especially like the little area below font y gary (spelling?) holiday park near cardiff airport.

A few steps down to a secluded rocky area of coastline. Idyllic.

I would say that the oldest thing that any of us sees (though we can't look directly at it - well, not until it 'goes down') is that big giant ball of light at the centre of our Solar system more commonly known as 'The Sun'

It's around 4.5 billion years old.

Amazingly, water all around you is the same age as the sun.

What about the stars?

I was thinking about the stars as I posted my comment.

Some of them may well be older than our own, but some may be younger.

Now I think about it, surely the blackness of Space is the oldest 'thing' there is at 13.6 Billion years old - and we can all see that at night

What about deep at the centre of the universe, with all the dark matter, from the beginning of time itself, trapped in a ball of infinite gravity, there is a thread about barebacking, bi guys and single guy club prices

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

You can't walk round York without seeing things that are 1,500 to 2,000 years old, so lets just say, lots.
