What's the rush?

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

Do you find in life you're always in a hurry to be somewhere or do something?

Are you the kind of person who speeds up to get through the amber light?

Do you ever take time to just relax and go with the flow?

How does it refect in your fan life? I chat to people who want to arrange a meet straight away whereas I prefer to chat and see how things go before rushing in.

I prefer to meet people quite quickly for a social before I invest any time in them. I'd rather know we both fancy each other before building up any sort of connection.

I tend to take my time and make sure the job is done properly. There's a saying, measure twice, cut once. I've seen people rush around like a blue arsed fly and achieve absolutely didley squat

Work I push myself way too much, but it's a job that requires speed.

I'm a lazy fucker at home.

With meets I like to take my time, I don't want awkward silence or anything. I need to know we'll have a laugh and that I'm relaxed enough to be the me you all know and

I'm so laid back as I've got older. I spent years rushing round like a loon. All I got for my troubles was high blood pressure from being angry all the time, lots of licence points from rushing everywhere, and 3 hernia operations from overstressing my body.

Nowadays, it's relax, slow, and calm with everything I do.

I dislike rushing in real life. I leave early to ensure I'm places on time. I carry a book and fill the waiting with reading.

On Fab... no idea? I guess I've been letting other people make the first move. Unfortunately, I think they might be waiting for me?

This is kinda like with me now. I got exhaustion through work. I've done nothing but rest for the last few weeks and I really don't want it to happen again, it's wiped me out so bad.

My head is in a spin because I want to go back to being a Tasmanian devil but I don't want to suffer again. Saying that I'd done 7 months with no time off, and was doing long hours and not eating properly.

I had quite a stressful career up until I decided to take early retirement nearly two years ago..it just seemed I was living to work and i found that everything I did seemed to be at breakneck speed and one day I woke up and decided enough was enough..two weeks later I was gone..almost overnight I felt like a massive millstone had been lifted..I now live a far more relaxed, chilled, stress free life.....I even decided to join FAB after I realised life is for living..??

Its good to strike a balance although I am definitely guilty when it comes to rushing about on the road...traffic to me feels like I'm losing valuable time that I could spend wasting doing more enjoyable things haha.

I'm off sick at the mo, doctor was shocked I'd lasted as long as I had. I'm on my 4th week off, got at least another 1, but still gotta go back to the docs next week. Blood tests showed I was anemic, vitamin d deficiency and high cholesterol. Basically my body had gone into famine mode. It was shutting down.

You know what, I used to be the worst for this, then I quit my job and went back to school.. it took me like 6 months to realise how futile it all was, but I'm liking the new horizontal approach

I know I'll have to go back to the old routine eventually, but hopefully with a better perspective.

Fab is fab, I don't rush owt here either

I think its a combination. The whole...

If a jobs worth doing it's worth doing well

If you want something some properly, do it yourself

My mum was very pushy, nothing was ever good enough. I could have got all A's in my exams and that wouldn't have been good enough.... "If you'd have tried harder you would have got A*s"

I guess that's kinda stuck. I'm naturally competitive although I am not actually bothered if I'm not the best at something.

I go with the flow...in pretty much everything in my life actually. If I need to rush, I can do 100 things a min, if I dont then I relax.

Normally I'm one of the most relaxed laid back people you would ever meet...unless you stress me

I'm lucky that my chosen business allows me to work slowly, deliberately, and in relaxed surroundings. I'd struggle if I ever had to be employed in a job again.

I relate to this although its myself who is pushy. I always want to do the best I can.

My boss regularly kicks my ass for not delegating work. But I know if I do it myself it'll be right

I always used to think if you don't meet someone within a week or two its never going to happen but now I have no choice but to take a step back..

I was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia with chronic fatigue so if I overdo something on one day I will be seriously regretting it the next...

I am just spending time working out what I can and cant do, and what my capabilities are and after a lifetime of being a bundle of energy and its a whole new experience taking things at a slower pace

This is the thing, I regularly get a telling off for not delegating, then when I do, shock horror, it's been done to a poor standard so I do it again anyway to avoid another bollocking. I seriously can't win.

I'm never in a rush. I'm more of an organised person than a spontaneous one. I think this comes across on fab too, sometimes to my detriment, but then that's ok too as what will be will be

My fan life? Or fab life?

Were you in a rush to post?

I like slowing down and smelling the roses/coffee. I actually make coffee starting by grinding my beans. There are some things worth the time and effort if you want to enjoy it.

I hate rushing around. Mistakes happen that way.

I'm very chilled and prefer to move slowly with most things in life. Like you op, the majority of people who message want near instantaneous shags; those guys don't get it with me.

I'm frustrated when things have to be quicker than I'd prefer and irritated when it's just because another person is hooked on needing to be super quick.

My health is better without avoidable rushing

Never rush. Whats the point. Ile go as slow as i want at everything. N just dont give a fook. Lifes to short to rush. Fuck that. Why rush to your last day. Take it easy n chill. Dont let anything or anyone bother you. Dont take anything at all seriously. Life is so much easier that way. Ive learnt that.

I live my life a quarter mile at a time.

But in all honestly, I always do find myself in a hurry to be somewhere or do something. I feel like the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland at times, always late for an important date.

Usually no, I don't speed up through an amber light.

I do now try and relax and go with the flow. After my last place at work and all the crap that got on top of me I have slowed right down and take more time with things so I don't get into the issues that cause me the problems before, but at times I find myself going to slow and wish to speed up. The change of pace has been nice though. I just have to find a nice balance.

I went to fast to begin with on here and realise that I was making mistakes (sometimes it feels to late I realised that), but it also made me realise that I was looking for the wrong thing. I'd much rather have a good group of friends that I can talk with, meet socially, be myself around and still have other meets after chatting with them.
