I've had friends that have seen it and it's been a mixed reviews from them, leaning towards don't.
From what they have told me it's the usually fair of terrible editing, a plot that has more holes in it than Swiss cheese and the usually baysplosions.
But at least no "suddenly China" this time. That made no sense the last film. |

I really like the transformer movies. They're perfect 'leave your brain at the doors' type of films. No need to make sense. Full of action. And what's not to like when cool shit transforms into robots? |

First film was great, goosebumps and childhood memories sweeping back! Then a couple of crap ones, but like already said, this is no brain chill out stuff.
Look forward to this one. |

I went to see it tonight and thought it was too confused and they've run out of ideas. It's like they've taken transformers and added in elements the fast and furious, the last knight, tomb raider and da Vinci code. Got what I wanted though which was to Zone out and not think for 2.5 hours |

Same as the last 3. So glad this is Michael Bays last. They're all the same:
-too much focus on humans, Transformers are basically side characters for most of the movies.
-too many plot holes
-no regard for continuity
-terrible humour
-full of product placement
-poorly developed characters
-Optimus is always missing for half the movie
The only goos thing about these movies are the cgi, special effects, and sound editing

Its not harsh its the truth. Every critic agrees. They are bad movies from a filmmaking point of view, however they are still entertaining.
Yes I saw the end. They're already planning number 6 and are currently developing a Bumblebee spin off movie. They also apparently have around 14 story ideas that they could pick from for future movies |

They're all bad apart from the first one tbh. Although I'm interested to see how they do without Michael Bay. Hopefully Travis Knight can do a good job with the Bumblebee movie |

Real Transformers fans shun the bastardised version created by Bay. |

"I've never met anyone who's actually seen any of these films. I've always wondered why they keep getting sequels.
Because they keep making money"
And as long as it makes a shed load of money each time they will keep doing them.
I went watching the latest film and enjoyed some of it but I was ultimately disappointed.
These films take me back to my childhood and there are some elements in them that I really like. However like has been said they build something interesting and cut away and Optimus always heads into hiding...
If they are making further films then I'd like them to take a look at the Marvel UK comic which developed story arcs and went in different directions. |
