the smart money now says sometime in early september (although i have been tipped off by an employment agency that they may be looking at specialists to showcase them from end of august....) |

there are a lot of people that are.... lol my upgrade date is in november so i am waiting to see what orange say for me...... if it is as radical as they say it is going to be.. then i am going to be the biggest apple nerd... lol |

I have a 3 now but is it worth upgrading to 4 when my contract is up, or should I hang on a bit for the 5? |

depending on when your upgrade is due.. i would be tempted to say if your phone is due for an up before lets say october.. and your current one works fine... skip the 4 and hold out for the 5 |

well from what is going round.... larger screen, bigger memory, faster speed.... then some of the features coming with IOS 5 may not work with the 3g and 3gs...... |

looks like may finally have an apple event announcement date... october 4th....
here is the stunner... it may be more than one phone they are lauching...
it looks like they may well be doing a basic iphone4 for the cheaper "pay as you go" market... and an iphone 5 |

Apparently there is an apple event on the 4th of October. They are most likely to be announcing the date then. If past years are to go by then it will be a couple of weeks after. Most analysts are predicting the 21st of october. Another reason fr this date is that a leaked document shows that best buy in the USA have ordered a lot of extra display equipment for the 20th of October.
My friend has a galaxy s II. Have to say it's good but no way could I leave apple now. |

As a few of us mentioned in an older thread it's looking more and more like the October launch will be for an iPhone 4S with the iPhone 5 more likely Spring 2012.
The 4S will have a better camera capable of HD film, faster processor (same one as in iPad 2) and two antennae.
Not really that compelling for current iPhone 4 owners. Unless you need higher def cock and fanny pics. I wont be upgrading from my 4.
These are just rumours however, much like everything in this thread. |

okay.. that was interesting.... no 5 but an improved 4S with better chip in it to make it work faster.. plus a few bits and bobs....
not sure if I will be upgrading from the 4 i have now, i will probably just hold off and see... |

With the customer service we've had with O2 and the disapointment of the Iphone 4, we doubt if we'll be renewing either of them when our contracts are up, back to HTC for us .. Apple's too quirky for us and too much of a tie .. |

its actually october 14th... 
if I had a 3g/3gs then I would absolutely upgrade to the 4s......
but anyone with a 4 I think is going to have a much harder decision to make...
yes the 4s does come with a better processing chip and will make things quicker.. and siri (voice personal assistant) does look impressive but I don't think I would use it in public cause you'd look like a bit of a twit talking into your phone...
if my normal upgrade was coming i would possible do it, but I wouldn't get out early and pay the upgrade fee to do it... |

My upgrade is due in November and Ive got the iphone 4 now. Im really unsure if I want to get the 4s now. Will have to see if someone I know gets one and have a nosey!! |

My own phone which I hardly use, carry work one most of the time.
Own (old 1st gen touch screen) will replace with an Android when contract up for renewal.
iPhone4 see no real need to change work one. Camera is good enough now, for better a camera with optical zoom and better sensor will always win.
