I don't watch emmerdale but suicide should not be illegal in my book.

if a person has mental capacity and wishes to end their life it should be up to them.

I belive it should be legal, so we could get dr's 2 do it.....beacause if i was paralysied from the neck down i would want 2 go, but i wud never ask a member of my family 2 do it.....cuz 1) i wudnt wanna put em through the emotion.....and 2) i wudnt want em goin 2 jail, or getting abuse off other people......but if it was legal the dr's cuz do it so the family wudnt have 2.

Did anyone see Terry Pratchetts documentary re suicide clinics in Switzerland? Heartbreaking but amazingly brave of those who made a conscious decision for themselves. Seems a pity you have to go abroad to avoid the criminality aspect here.

if a person is of sound enough mind to make a will leaving their "estate", then the same should be held for a living will.

I would gladly give the drug/pull the plug in order to end a loved ones suffering and hope they would do the same for me, if that was what is wished for.

I've always said to my kids I'd take a one way trip to Holland if I was seriously ill.

I'd rather pass away with dignity than survive as a burden to them.

no matter

I absolutely 100% agree with assisted suicide having had two friends die of motor neurone disease in two months.I also instructed my children it would be what i want when / if i lose my mind to alzheimers cos i sure as hell dont want to be a burden to them after my mind has gone there is little point in being around. for them or for me. we had around 6 years my MIL didnt even know her son its heartbreaking. take me to switzerland and do it. After all it will cost less do do that than pay a home and lose inheritance.

I agree that people of sound mind should be allowed to decide if and when they choose to end there life. We should be allowed to have it on our medical records, if certain illness that will only worsen and no chance of a cure then we have the right to die.

If it was an animal we put it out of its misery, why shouldnt it be the same for humans.

I for one do not wish to end up in a state that my family have the burden of looking after me, i would go rather take my own life.
