How do you make sure you drink enough fluids in this weather. I have to drink a lot as my medication affects me more in the heat.
I do drink quite a bit but i struggle getting the volume down me and seem to have a consistant headache |

I drink over 3 litres a day
Always have a 750 mm bottle with nice cool drink to hand , right now it is sparkling water with a berry sports hydration tab
I set my watch to ping every hour as a reminder
But the main solution is to have largeish bottle to hand filled with cool not too sweet fluid that you enjoy drinking xxx |

I sip water throughout the day, keep a bottle of tap water on my desk, glass of water on the coffee table at home etc.. You could also try eating more low sugar fruit like water melon and sucking on ice etc.
Hope your headaches subside soon x |

I find a potassium containing hydration fluid , dramatically improves how I feel
Little odd to be bloated and weeing
It is inconvenient weeing a lot but worth while
And 3 glasses could either be 100 ml 250 or 330 , there is no normal size glass ? It's not difficult to find out though ? |

That could be a bit too much ? In a working day that's 8 litres ?
I'm prob near to an average of 330 per hour
Or 4 750 during my working day a little more on very hot days or depending upon how physical I'm being
On average id consume 1 or 2 750 with a hydration tab and the rest as a squash or lemon infused xxx |

I always drink minimum of 2L every day whether hot it not, add to that my herbal teas & it's not often I'm dehydrated.
I'm currently dropping a little peach barley squash in every other bottle to break it up a bit.
DiamondSmiles, I'm the same. I get really bloated if I drink a lot in a short space of time |

I spent a while in hospital last year wit renal colic, due to dehydration.
2 litres a day at a minimum in this heat.
Carry a water bottle around and just have a mouthful every 10 minutes or so. Swishing it around your mouth will speed the uptake. |

If you are drinking 24 glasses (3 glasses per hour over 8 hours) of anything in a day that's too much, a standard glass is about 300ml, so that's about 7 litres, you will flush out (pee) too much of the salts and minerals that you require.
Your headache may in fact be a slight case of encephalitis (swelling of the brain) due to too much fluid.
It is entirely possible to drink too much and end up in hospital. |

So thats 13 litres of fluid?
I think you need to have a chat with a medical professional, but to me that sounds like waaaayyy too much water!

"Ive just measured it out in a jug. Im having exactly 1.5 pints an hour between about 9 and 11. So thats about 20 pints of fluids a day"
Yup, that's just over 13 litres... seriously... go see a doctor, I don't want to get all melodramatic but you can die from drinking too much water!! |

From an online search... pretty much the same advice from a number of sources.
"The Institute of Medicine determined that an adequate intake (AI) for men is roughly about 13 cups (3 liters) of total beverages a day. The AI for women is about 9 cups (2.2 liters) of total beverages a day." |

Should not need a doctor just reduce consumption to less than 4 x and indeed drinking a lot of water with no additional salts will be harmful |

However if you believe 20 pints a day is healthy that's perfectly ok there can be no data that should persuade you otherwise xxx |
