Guests taking their shoes off

How do you guys feel about guests taking their shoes off when they come into your home?

I'm not talking about if you ask guests to at the door. We have laminate and don't ask people to. If people feel comfortable or do it automatic that's fine.

I'm not talking about play guests either as we can't and don't accom, I'm taking about extended family being barefoot

I automatically take my shoes off when I enter my house or anyone elses.

My floors all tiled and laminate so if they don't, I don't mind

Downstairs is fine as theres no carpet but I'd ask anyone to take their shoes off if they went upstairs. Carpet ain't cheap.

Seems a recent thing. Can't recall ever going to family/friend and asked to remove shoes. My children do, even hand out hand sanitiser before you touch their babies.

I have oak floors. Still surprised that people automatically remove their shoes I never ask.

We prefer people taking their shoes off, and usually check with people when we come into their home.

always simply thought it polite to remove shoes on entering someone's home - perhaps I am old fashioned?

The ground floor hallway and kitchen are tiled so fine in there but shoes off anywhere other than that.

It annoys the hell out of us when we watch the folks on TV looking around peoples home walking straight in and around their homes keeping them on.

Never done it in my life with ordinary shoes - yard boots yes - but it doesn't bother me when house guests do, I think it's quite sweet.

We have not worn shoes since birth indoors, so guests make themselves at home by removing theirs. That or they get removed.

Don't need them indoors therefore guests always take their shoes off at my house.

I prefer to take mine off when going to people's homes, but I ask first or see what they do.
