I'm not sure what to think of this. It's going to be boxing only so think mcgregor will struggle. Mostly though I think this is going to just be a circus event. They should have made it a battle of styles. Boxing v mma |

I'm not sure what the point of this fight is. I understand why the guys are doing it when you hear the size of the purse but it seems more of a gimmick than a serious match up. |

Mayweather struggles with south paws.
And Mcgregor proved in match two with Diaz he can't last that long that was five rounds.
Can't boxing go to round twelve Mcgregor would be dead.
And Mayweather has had way better cardio training am tempted to put a hundred on Mayweather round three. |

mayweather super tricky fast combos the best......of his time I question if at 40 his time has passed always had problems with southpaw.
I think it will be alot closer than what folk think and if connor connects early its goodnight from him |

boxing and mma have very different cardio needs I wouldnt question connors conditioning |

Huge mismatch. If McGregor was any good as a boxer that's the sport he would be in from the start as there's far more money in it. He'd get probably get beat by a British title holder nevermind an ATG.

I think it would be better for boxing on a whole is Mayweather wins.
If Conner wins, that's going to invite every MMA fighter to think they can get a boxing license and go straight for the best.
If Conner wants to be taken seriously as a boxer, he should have started in the undercards and worked his way to a main event like every other boxer. |

He doesn't give a flying one about being taken seriously as a boxer though. He knows he loses against the first well schooled fighter he faces so there's no point in him taking 10 or so undercard fights when he can earn 10 times more in 1 fight.
I'd love it though if he just thought 'fuck it' and took floyd down straight away and ch*ked him out!

As an mma fan I think mcgregor should be defending his belt(s) but I can see his sense in 1 big payday and retire before the brain damage sets in

I'm a big MCGregor fan but no way he's winning this. In fairness he knows that himself but anyone would take a few digs from Mayweather for £100million! Take the payday and retire as a two weight world champion and probably the biggest star the UFC has ever seen! |

I'll admit that I've never seen an MMA fight so am not really aware of McGregor. The whole things smacks of a very well paid publicity stunt for the two of them, and I don't get what the reasoning behind it is. |

Cross over fights make huge money because they attract two sets of fans. Brock Lesner went from WWE to UFC and did huge PPV numbers. McGregor is supposed to be the best boxer in the UFC. He definitely sucks at ju jitsu anyway. Personally i think Holly Holm is better in her devision. |

But brock lesner was also a 3 time collegiate national heavyweight wrestling champion.... so at least he had a skill set

But at the end of the day mayweathers knock out record is so-so. McGregor is used to getting hit with knees, elbows and shins rather than massive boxing gloves. He'll lose but he won't get KO'd. Can't say the same for Mayweather in an MMA fight. |

Connor will get knocked sparked out.
The best in the world have tried to beat Mayweather in 49 professional fights, they haven't managed it.
Connor is a good Striker in the UFC but he has no fucking chin at all.
Look at the Nate Diaz fight (first one) when Nate cho-ked (sorry forum doesn't allow that word) him out, Nate was Jabbing him all over the shop prior to that and it was clear as day Mcregor can't be hit full in the face and absorb it.
Having said that.
Conor is gonna get £100M just for stepping in the ring and for £100M I'd happily get knocked out too.
Other than that it's an absolute joke of a fight. |

Mayweather pockets quarter of a billion (minimum)

I think this is all about money. Neither of them 'need' the money but in my opinion, that's what it's about.
I think this will be Conor's retirement fight from UFC, boxing, dancing etc.
$100mill for one fight... no need to EVER fight again, just sit back and look after his family.
Win or lose, I think he'll say he's retired after the fight then go the dressing room and have a Mr Burns style money fight, throwing bundles of money around.

If he runs like Mo Farah like he did against Manny, McGregor will land hefty punches he's not used to.

'Real' boxers with more power than mcgregor have tried...and failed, to land hefty punches on mayweather. This 'fight' is a joke and mcgregor wouldnt beat any 154lb boxer who is rated in the top 50 imho |
