As some of you may well be aware, I've been job hunting since being made redundant in February, with over 260 applications in 5 months!
Yesterday I got a tip about a new hotel opening in 2 months in Yorkshire; I made a phone enquiry and spoke to a senior manager already on site. They've since had my CV and application form (thank goodness for email!).
Now they've made an approach ref talking about a Senior Managerial job; I'll know more tomorrow; all this in a little over 28 hours from my approach phone call!

Mind you, what sort of discount you'd get off average prices of £250 per night, gawd knows!

I wouldn't worry about tempting fate. If you are what they want,come across well and put in the effort (And it looks like you have already done the 3rd by contacting them) you should have a very good chance. Be confident, be smart for the inter_iew and you shouldn't need luck as you will be the first choice candidate. |

All the best to you, hope all turns out well.
I know personally how hard it is finding work in our area, especially mid 40's onwards.
I myself have recently found employment after a long lay off, crap money and hours but at least its regular crap money and hours.

Advertising and inter_iewing costs money and if you are available and experienced you have to be high up on their wish list. If you are positive and keen i get a good feeling you will be what they want. |
