I went to one day of Love Supreme last year down on the south coast. Was a great day and saw a couple of cool acts.
I think I would need to go glamping if I went to Glastonbury |

Have been to many over the years, Monsters of Rock/Download, Reading, Pentrich Rock&Blues, Milton Keynes, Knebworth.
Best was probably Led Zep at Knebworth in '79. Am going to Pentrich this year with a sexy forumite |

I did the 96 T, brilliant line up in those days and looking back hard to believe Foo Fighters and Prodigy were far from headliners. |

I've been to loads of festivals, glad to have done Glastonbury in the late 80s and early 90s before it went huge, did Reading the year Nirvana headlined and never been back, loved Select festival up by Oban the 2 years that was on. Last one 1 went to was Hellfest in France and it was better than any British festival. This year might do Shiiine but being at Butlins not sure it;s really a festival. If I ever go to another festival it will be overseas and not in the UK |

The prices of big fests really put me off!! So I go to the Godiva festival in Cov, which is free Best memory there was seeing Happy Mondays a couple of years ago, being right at the front and having Bez shaking his shakers at me looking forward to seeing the Stra-nglers there this year |

Glastonbury and Boomtown for me this year.
I don't know that I could pick my best weekend ever but seeing Kate Tempest do spoken word at Glastonbury a few years ago is almost certainly my favourite festival moment ever. Powerful stuff! |

My favourite was Glastonbury 2003 and it was my first festival I was such young not so innocent 17 year old haha. Since then I've been to Isle of Wight festival 3 times reading once, Leeds 3 times and download once which is weird cause I live like 20 mins from download. Going Leeds again in august. |

I only go to festivals abroad now because of the beautiful UK climate. I'm going to best kept secret in Holland on Friday.
I went to festival on a beach in Croatia last year, that is the way to do it |

Wouldn't go to one now but did a few in the 90's. Glasto '94 was awesome.
The last (and most fun) one I went to was Kendall calling about 9 years ago. Line up wasn't great but my boyhood heroes EMF were playing. Invaded the stage during 'unbelievable' and got thrown out by security, sneaked back in, got backstage and hung out with the band who were total gents!
Didn't think I could ever top that so never been to a festival since.

Off to Green Man yet again.
Glastonbury 2000 was probably my favourite experience. It was the year when the police said the security had to be sorted in future or else!
Was amazingly good fun, but with a real edge - Scousers and Mancs every few yards flogging cans of "cold" Stella from a steepling tower of 24 packs that had been out in the sun for hours (and "other merchandise" too!).
A gorgeous woman invaded the stage and danced with the Happy Mondays for ages.....naked. If I ever meet the cameraman, I'll shake his hand for the shameless close-ups.
Some blokes from the Valleys gave a hitchhiker a lift home. When they stopped the van and opened up the back to let him out he was dead.
I think there was some good music too |

That must have been from the early days as it was much bigger at the end. I worked on the gate at the last one and got our friends whole wedding/honeymoon party in for nothing. I woke up at the top of the wooden elephant one afternoon with no knowledge of actually climbing it |

I recommend going to festivals abroad (see some of my pics), as in my experience they are better value and have less restrictions on camping/bringing your own booze and less nobheads.
U.K. Exception to this would be Festival No.6, which has the most spectacular location of any of them.. |

Not sure as I'm not from down here. Maybe 84 but don't quote me, twas many moons ago. It stopped because some travelers lit a fire inside one of his oak trees that lined the drive then kicked off when the fire brigade tried to put it out. |

It was The Peace Convoy that burnt the tree, the oldest oak tree there .... not very peaceful !! I looked online about the dates and it seems to be 1981 to 1986. I went twice and one year saw The Cure and i think Clint Eastwood and General Saint. I can't remember who i saw the year before ! Some HA from Leicester went one year and were struggling to be allowed entrance to it. My ex vaguely knew some of them (we were bikers) and oddly some were allowed entrance just because he knew them although i have no idea why that helped them lol. I got really sunburnt at the beach one day and had to spend the rest of the day with very few clothes on because my skin hurt with clothes on. Many others were almost naked anyway |

Dude!! That's crazy talk you live in Bristol!! Get the full listings for The Fleece, pick something where the description piques your interest, have a listem online and get yourself down there. Stand at the bar, have a beer, watch some bands.
Might become your new favourite thing to do. |
