I heard about this as well. It is very sad hearing that he has passed on. I remember him playing another superhero in a two parter episode of Goosebumps.
I reckon that his character in Family Guy will have to be written out of the show like with the character Edna Crabapple in The Simpsons.
Despite all his other roles over the years, he'll always be remembered as one of the most memorable actors to play Batman.

He was a big part of my childhood as Bat-Man and a bigger part of my adulthood as Mayor Adam West in Family Guy. Another great loss.
My favourite quote:
"We gather today to remember those brave Quahog men that were lost at sea. The bible declares, an eye for an eye, so let us now take our vengeance on this murderous ocean (stabs ocean). You won't be hurting anyone anymore! "

Rather a shock - I was hoping to meet him at the end of July just to to shake his hand and say thank you for being the 'Bright Knight'.
He, and Kevin Conroy, will always be the seminal Batmen for me.
RIP.
