Just like to say that this morning I saw two cyclists who resisted the temptation to ride on the footpath, or the main carriageway, but actually used the hitherto unused cycle lanes.
If you are reading this then thank you for your consideration towards other road users and pedestrians.
I never thought this day would arrive. Heck who knows, tomorrow they might even have some lights on the bikes. |

You thought that was good? Well yesterday I saw a BMW driver who actually signalled and gave way. OMG I nearly fainted. |

Lies. We all know BMW cars don't have indicator stalks |

'Didn't say how she signalled, it was a hand signal.... but on second thoughts she may have been drying her nail varnish. |

"Who knows, maybe one day I'll get to work on my bike without some twat in a car nearly side swiping me. Doubt it though......"
They own the road don't you know no other legal carriage is ever allowed to use them in case they slow them down for 3 mins as they wait to legally pass you. |

"I hooted at a cyclist who shot through a red light into my path yesterday and narrowly avoided getting mashed. I'm a "f*ck*ng w*nk*er" apparently."
You are indeed a f*ck*ng w*nk*er. This is 2017. The days of it being acceptable to be prejudiced against the colour blind are long since gone. |

I posted this at the end of the last cyclist bashing thread. I think it sums it up quite well without all the arguments.
There are shit cyclists
There are shit car drivers
There are shit lorry drivers
There are shit bus drivers
There are shit motorcyclists
There are shit taxi drivers
There are shit horse riders
There are shit tractor drivers
There are shit van drivers
We all have to use the same bits of tarmac, show some patience and respect to each other. If that saves a life, then my inane waffle is worthwhile. |

Easier to just say there are shit people about. Thankfully they're in the minority though |

"This had nothing to do with anyone being shit. On the contrary my post was commending two cyclists who were using a cycle lanes.
"
I was preempting the inevitable comments that come from the usual suspects when it comes to a cycling thread.
You know the ones...'road tax' 'insurance' 'red light runners' '2 abreast wankers' 'get off the road'.....all the usual nuggets of inspired commentary. Not! |

I'd hoped this was going to be about cyclists in Cambridge - miles and miles of cycle lanes and you *still* get loads of entitled cyclists on the pavement who aren't slowing down for anyone and swear if you don't move out of the way fast enough for their liking |

"Cyclists should have insurance though
But that's another bone of contention "
We do, it's just not mandatory to have it. I'm fully covered for cycling on the road which does include collisions |
