The NHS is anticipating a rise in unplanned pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases thanks to a shortage of condoms caused by a dispute between Durex and its key supplier.
The shortage has been caused by Indian firm TTK Lig halting its supply of condoms in a price dispute with Durex owner Reckitt Benckiser.
Durex has launched a High Court bid to force TTK to resume supply but the claim was rejected which means that Britain is now facing a condom shortage. So we best get some in if this is going to go on for a long time .

Perhaps we'll have to have ration books. We will only be allowed one guy a month and absolutely no orgies as that takes up too many condoms. Unless we can wash them out  |

I went to 2 clinics last week.. and superdrug have two packets of durex of 9.99 at the moment... so I am well stocked up.. think I have close to 200.. so should last me a few weeks...

I don't think we are really likely to run out in the UK. They have long expiry dates and if stocks get low the big supermarkets will just import another brand from the US or some other place to fill any shortfall. |

latex gloves are 99p for ten in the supermarkets, and each pair has 8 fingers that I am sure will be good enough for half the male population.

Just a thought, there's a chance we may end up with the opposite result, with durex being one of the best known there's a chance lesser known brands may well try to tap into the market with durex being hindered that way, also possible we may end up with better deals. |

So if there wasnt a shortage previously what caused the normal rate of unplanned pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases then lol? Durex message never gets across to those it should get to a shortage will make no difference, I reckon. |
