Genuine plumbing question.
Any ideas folks, newish boiler installed (Worcester) and has a black circular box above it, possibly condensation box?? Yesterday afternoon and this morning, sounds of water flowing seems to be trickling down, very noisy, but no leaks have been seen.
Hubby has turned a tap off to the side and the sound stops, but unknown if this should be off.
Google doesn't seem to help, any ideas folks????

Get the installer back. I wouldn't advise turning off anything you don't know what it is. It might be some kind of overflow. If it's outside the boiler, it's probably not Worcester Bosch part, but installed in conjunction to make your particular system work. |

Was it pouring down outside as we used to get rainwater pouring into our boiler if it was a really heavy downpour via the outside flue vent.
Hubby made a cowl to put over the top of the outside bit of the flue and it solved the problem.

The box is likely to be a flue gas heat recovery unit.
Questions are-
Did you have either the heating or hot water in use at the time?
Was it raining, as stated above?
Just for your peace of mind, get the installer back.

If he is a gas safe installer just give him a call to check.
If he is profesional he will not mind |

Thanks for all your responses x from looking at the pipe leading outside it should have some sort of cover over it and it is exposed! So the rain yesterday must have gone into the pipe. Will get it sorted ASAP. Thanks again x |
