Personally. Yes. People get ideas from what they read/see. If they see good things it promotes good. It's like advertising.

I'd be less angry.

Not sure 'life' would be any different though.

No I don't think it would. When it comes down to it most of us only care deeply about our immediate life. Of course most of us care on a certain level about the wider world but it's temporary. There are exceptions and they tend to take positive action.

Also even if there was no media there would be Frank from the next town who heard it from Susan from the town ten miles from him.

The problems arise from when people believe everything they read, not the fact it's reported

I'd be happier if I didn't know but if you ask me if I wanted to know i'd say yes.

No, not knowing things is a false and selfish comfort.

But I would prefer a less hyped and more accurate level of reporting.

Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

If things were not accurately reported, it would be down to the Internet to promulgate the information..

Just not quite sure if that'd be bad or just really bad..

Also, we wouldn't have Trevor Mcdonald..

I'd be a lot happier if suicide bomber wasn't part of my 7 year olds vocabulary

We don't have a TV or buy a newspaper, and he's still aware, I don't think bad news is something that can be avoided.

Not necessarily, the BBC does, on the whole, do a half decent job.

But it needs to stop trying to compete with the "Tabloid" new stations (Sky, Fox, even ITV).

As they are trying to attract an audience, rather than just report the facts.

Yes. If only so I didn't read the crap that the unintelligent, uneducated, ill-informed and ignorant spouted about it.
