Ive been quite saddened by a number of posts on a number of threads this morning
When people die through accident, drug taking murder or war we should not be distracted from the fact that however they died they are likely too have left a big hole in someones life
Death affects us all and we should do well to remember there fa the grace of god go I (To coin a phrase)
Life in my opinion is too short to concentrate on the short comings and lives of others
And after the last few days events in Oslo and the same with Amy and all our lads that fight and perish
We should do well to take time out and think of their families and friends who will be missing them deeply whatever the circumstances of their death xx |

That is how I feel about it too Soapy.
Regardless of how someone dies, I find it very sad that people cant feel a little compassion. Now ok Im making an assumption that noone on this forum knew any of the people on the news that have died this weekend. And whilst it has shocked, it hasnt affected us, probably none of us are crying and we're posting and cooking our sunday lunches at the same time.
We are all going to die, not all of us will die peacefully in our sleep when we are 100 from old age. We may all develop illness which have been exacerabated by our lifestyles. Like I said on another post, smokers may develop cancers or hardening of the arteries, people who eat a lot of fat may develop heart disease etc etc, we all know this. None of us are perfect, we probably all do something to our bodies which is not healthy.
It would be nice to think that when we go people will feel compassion and loss for us, regardless of what we died from.
The thing that annoys me the most is when people make jokes out of celebrity death or tragedy. I think its disgusting.
Thankfully I am grateful that Im not that type of person and I am certainly glad that I am not a hard hearted person

Very well said that man
It is always sad when a life is lost however it is lost, its the hole it leaves in the lives of those left behind that saddens me most, the questions left unanswered, the words left unsaid.

When I think of death, and of late the idea has come with alarming frequency, I seem at peace with the idea that a day will dawn when I will no longer be among those living in this valley of strange humours.
I can accept the idea of my own demise, but I am unable to accept the death of anyone else.
I find it impossible to let a friend or relative go into that country of no return.
Disbelief becomes my close companion, and anger follows in its wake.
I answer the heroic question 'Death, where is thy sting? ' with the following reponse :
' it is here in my heart and mind and memories.'

Always in life there will be moments like this! Unfortunately it does happen! But although i do feel for amy's family, what people seem to forget is, there are many people fighting for our country and they get killed doing just that, fighting for our freedom! I respect them and there familes, but dont see any threads for those people! R.I.P the many people in service for our country, may your spirits soar high and continue to guide us |
