My female f/b who is currently looking amazing with cartoon red hair wants a complete change of image and go platinum blond for our trip away in a few weeks x

Any top tips to do this as quickly and as safely as possible with out damaging her hair? X

I'm not a hairdresser but I don't think there's any way to go from red to platinum blonde and maintain hair in good condition.

It will take a good few weeks as you've got to let the hair relax and recover, it took me just over a month to go from pillar box red to platinum blonde and even them my hair was left dry

I would never advise a rapid, drastic hair colour change. Once you've damaged your hair it takes an awfully long time for the damage to grow out.

hi I was Brown and went dark blonde and i had 4 lots of bleach and on home kits and hairdressers but please a hair stripper first b2 or something like that is amazing for when I want not to be red anymore I went like a really light ginger but tell hair not to put honey blonde on after as it goes more ginger and also leave silver shampoo and condition on for like 20 mins each

Thankyou very much for all the advice x

A hairdresser friend has advised stripping it x

Giving it a condition treatment and then in the interim go a light brown with a temp colour x

Then in a few weeks get blond foils and go a little lighter x

Then few days before we go - go for the full bleach - platinum foils x

Worst case scenario- trip to asda for brown colour before we fly out!!!

Resprayed a lorry once that was previously red, but had been sprayed blue before the owner had it, he wanted it white.

Once the white paint went on, the red came through the blue and white and the whole thing went bubble gum pink.

Had to take it right back to bare metal, prime it and spray it all black before going white to stop the red bleeding through.

That's basically what I was going to suggest - Colour B4 is a god sent, I stripped away goodness knows how many layers of dark red/dark purple/black dye in my hair a couple of years ago and one application took my hair back to its original colour.

Personally I would never mess with my own hair. I would advise anyone to go to a good qualified hairdresser and let them do it. I know it's expensive but so much can go wrong doing this yourself. Also when bleaching your hair you really need to know what your doing as there are several different processes of bleaching and it's knowing the exact stage to wash the bleach off. Too soon and you will be left with either a ginger colour or a bright yellow. Too long and you risk the hair drying out too much and snapping. Also kniwingbwhat percentage bleach your hair needs is a factor to. But once you got the desired look I would advise you to use a good purple diner to maintain the planinum look

Latest hair appointment for f/b has seen her have toner applied to her whole head x

The sunshine in Majorca wasn't kind to her hair and it went a duller blond than the original colour x

Hairdresser thinks she went platinum too soon so to be kind to her hair she has gone a light caramel shade with some balage at the ends x

Also had a very minxy shaved undercut x

Anyone else had a recent restyle cut or colour? X

What about a wig? Less drastic than colour change

Hair sounds uncomfortable, I'll stick to dressing in cotton.
