I'm having my forth one fitted tomorrow, so not a newbie question, however, I have to of course have the third one removed before hand, but that is the only one I have never been able to feel as I think it was put in deeper than the previous ones. Has this happened to you before and how long 'rooting around' so to speak did it take? I did leave a forewarning with the doctor about this, just not sure what to expect, as normally not been a big issue as they have been easy to find in the past |

"It took half an hour of digging around to find mine. It didn't hurt it was just boring/ annoying. Hope they find it. "
That's what I mean, I'm more concerned about losing my flexi time |

Is that the one they put in your arm? If it is, it was highly effective for me as I had a 3 week long period so I was in no mood, plus I could feel it!
Thank fuck for the menopause, less faffing about with contraception |

Just thought I'd give a quick update, the doctor could not confidently find it for removal, so I have now been referred to the family planning clinic, so they can trace it via ultra sound, no idea how long that will take though.
So I now have two implants (one in each arm) and no doubt two bruised arms tomorrow as she did try to trace the first one with the aesthetic (because sometimes it can make them easier/more prominent to find) So therefore just added the new one in my other arm.
Talk about safe sex
Oh, hold on, I'm not getting any anyway, can't get more safer than that |

Which arm is the new one in ? It should be safer to touch somebody's penis with that arm |

Oh and I have to add as she is actually quite a humourous lady, she did say, well it's not like it has a lot of places to hide |

In case others have this happen, after the ultra sound it has been found to be imbedded into the muscle in my arm, so I have been referred to the plastic surgeon at the hospital as will need proper removal in sterile conditions.
Apparently it occurs to 1 in 1000 women and because I have very little body fat (in my arms only unfortunately) is 1 of the reasons it happened, so to others in future, I hope this information helps you

New post:
Due to what happened with the deep imbedded implant (still awaiting removal) I think the Doctor was a little bit hesitant when putting in my new one and I feel it is too shallow and is annoying the shit out of me, that I want to tear at my arm on a daily basis.
My other 3 didn't have this effect at all, so I do have a call in at the doctors to see why it is annoying me so much, but until then, have any of you had this problem? If so, what did you do to alleviate this? I love the freedom of having the implant and no periods but this one is just driving me nuts! |

Neither Implant sound good foxy. Have u thought of trying a coil? You don't get peroodswith some of those. I've had 3 implants and agree they're hassle free (although not for you at present!). One of mine was a sod to get out and took a bit of digging and I decided 3 was enough at that point. |

I will admit the coil has never appealed to me, plus I have never had kids so they don't really recommend them to women like me. I was just wondering if it would be acceptable to ask for removal of this implant and ask for a new one to be replaced just a bit deeper? |

If it's driving you mad definitely go back. Why can't they put it in your thigh instead? |

Do you know what? I have no idea, it's never been an option, they even have cards to tell you which arm it is in so I don't know if it would be feasible though in essence I don't see why it wouldn't, good question to raise |

I did a quick Google but didn't find any reason why not. Just thought it might help if your thighs have more fat than your arms. Or maybe they could put it on the outside of your arm but it might be more likely to get knocked/ hurt.
I did find one report of nerve damage which might be worrying if they can't put it in properly. x |

Thanks, I will ask the question, but I did go into the surgery on Friday but as only certain doctors have the experience in implants (apparently it is a specialised subject) they will be contacting me on Monday, but you right, why does it always have to be in your arm?
Might have to do with easy extraction but I will ask so good call, thank you x |

I’ve got a Mirena coil and never had kids. I was on the injection before but they don’t like leaving you on it too long. I’ll not lie, it hurts like nothing else being put in and taken out but it lasts 5 years and very little/no periods. Sounds far better than them randomly losing implants in your arm! X |

"And it has just been replaced
Hope this ones beter "
So do I!
Even though the other one was so shallow it was a bugger to remove, and this one has been put in higher and slightly deeper, so feeling a little bit bruised.
Being so petite hasn't helped in this situation |

Trapped nerve so wrist is totally numb, I couldn't make this shit up lol
Really weird, trying to locate and feel the implant today and shooting pain felt in my wrist was unreal!
We are leaving it a week to see if it settles down, I do feel really sorry for the nurse I will admit as it is not her fault! Damn being slender lol |

I'm already dreading the removal of mine. Still got another year or so.
Nobody could bloody find it after it was put in and I had to have an ultrasound to see if it was definitely in there or if it had "travelled" to another part of my body...
You can't feel it at all and I just know it's going to give me Hell when it comes to removal.

In case anyone is watching this blog, back at the docs today, I still have the numbness in my wrist, but no longer have the torture enabling shocking pain if I brush against the implant, so we think it will settle down more once the membrane builds over it and reduces the sensitivities so we will wait and see, I hope this helps others |

I had to have a blood transfusion ... 4 pints, due to the implant. As with all things, if its works for you then fab. If not you have to find something else. Good luck xxx |
