No he's not alive but I've just started listening to some of his songs and they are amazing. I remember hearing them as a kid but ive never gone out of my way to listen to them.

I played You are always on my mind last night and it made me cry thinking about my ex and the things I should have said and done.

He has a song for every occasion. What's your favourite?

I'm sorry to rain on your parade but I can't stand him. There's something about him which really grates, I'm not sure why.

But it's always good to listen to music you've not heard for a long time (or have never heard before) and feel uplifted and enthralled by it

I did like the JXL remix of A Little Less Conversation ....

I've always loved in the ghetto too. I think my old age and nostalgia for years gone by is catching up with me.

Used to have the '68 comeback special on video and watched his performance of 'If I Can Dream' to death. One of my favourite songs ever.

Love me tender if I am feeling soppy.

Return to sender for a bit of a groove.

You may also enjoy his films.

There and to the left a bit

Another nay sayer here who doesn't "get" the adulation reserved for him. Think there are maybe three Elvis songs I like: Viva Las Vegas, Burning Love and A Little Less Conversation (but then only the remix).

Even then I've only come to like them through liking covers. Prefer the Fine Young Cannibals version of Suspicious Minds too

Suspicious Minds is up there, as is If I Can Dream.

Quality songs.

His cover of Johnny B Goode is good too. May be biased as thats my favourite song.

Always loved Elvis. The early songs are amazing full of raw power. Listen to Paralized. I want you I need you I love you or Fame and Fortune and maybe Rags to Riches Not hits but amazing. I've Been to Tupelo. Graceland Peabody Hotel and Sun Studios. In my opinion no one comes close to him.
