"And left 20 tonnes of litter on the beach
Peruse the article in our local rag of a 'news'paper.....the all seeing 'Argus'.
It is a shame though. " As much as i agree with you.. how many litter bins take 20 tons I would hang on to my rubbish till i found some where later many won,t do that or even if there,s bins around, people had more respect for their environment in the past.. and i agree it is sad. |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
I really don't understand littering. I imagine all those people sitting in their homes just dropping everything around their chairs and waiting for the Litter Fairy to come and make it all go away.

As we drove home earlier someone had dumped banana skins and wrappers out of their car window in the middle of the road. The beach near us is always littered with beer bottles, McDonalds wrapping, drink cans etc. Why do people think it's ok to leave their mess for someone else to clear up? |

Banana skins take 2 years to decompose, yet the McDonalds bag will only take a month. |

But someone still has to pick them both up. |

They do, but I think some people think that littering with organic material is not the same. They think it will become part of the earth in no time. They don't think of the increase in vermin or putrefaction or someone having to pick it up. Although, there does seem to be a group of people who think that paying their council tax entitles them to behave in this loutish way.

Very true yet they complain when council tax is increased.
I found orange peel in my handbag this morning that I'd put in there yesterday because I couldn't find a bin. I demand a council tax rebate |

Very handy thing for that...carry some baby nappy bags within your pockets or handbag to fill with rubbish or gum whenever you can't find a bin. |
