Never said this before. But I'm looking forward to this Grand Prix

Usually my least favourite track on the calendar but I think the results will be interesting

Its one of the few things I've always wanted to experience.

Not really interested in it as a TV event

Me 2. Would have loved for button to get the Mercedes seat.

I think if he can get the car into Q1 like alonso did last race, he could very well finish in the points

.

Most of them are boring to watch live and great on TV where as Monaco is the opposite

I'm not a fan of Monaco at all. I think the qualifying will be really good. Especially if red bull bring their A game.

This is the first time in a good few years where 2 constructors are battling for the top spot and it's made it so much more interesting

15 place grid drop for button now thanks to more Honda issues....

I think qualifying should be ace though

Both ferrarri and red bull are looking strong relative to Mercedes

A friend of mine usually lets his flat out in Monaco for the gran prix, one year he decided to stay and watch the race on the balcony with a few friends. We spent the whole time shouting at each other 'what's going on???' and rushing back inside to watch it on the TV

Utterly gutted that Jenson has been given a 15 place grid penalty due to mechanical issues with the car (i.e. The team have had to change things)

I know it's the rules, but the poor blokes only taking part in one race this season. I bet he's probably wondering why he bothered now.

McLaren really need to sort their car out - or is it the Honda engine they're using.

"As long as Hamilton does not win all ok"

As he's qualified in 12th place, it would seem unlikely. Especially with both Ferrari's on the front row and his team mate in 3rd, and Max Verstappen in 4th

McLaren have a great car. Unfortunately they don't have a good enough engine. Honda have been absolute dyer

Exactly this

They really have produced a good car/chassis this year- up there with ferrari and Mercedes in my opinion.

Getting silly now just how bad Honda are struggling still.

Button will still have fun from last- hes racing with zero pressure so still a very lucky man and he knows it

Maibe as you can see more of the race, but yes, it is not the same as being outside.

Yes I remember seeing that one...

For me it was a far more exciting era in motor racing but obviously a very dangerous persuit ....

I'll be supporting button until his engine blows up.

Hamilton I'll be rooting for to get a podium but on this track I doubt it

Hope Kimi wins.

My main hope is for a Mercedes, Ferrari and a red bull battle, from here to the end of the season, it's exactly what the sport needs

On a different track that would be a good bet. Here not sure. A lot of people don't like Hamilton so disregard his talent, but he's one of the few who could get to the podium for his position

Turns out that after 55 laps that I've watched so far, that moment of bants has been the highlight of the race.

do you reckon the irony of his honda engine blowing up at indy wasn't lost on alonso..

"do you reckon the irony of his honda engine blowing up at indy wasn't lost on alonso..

Honda and the Andretti threw everything at that race to win it, including adding an F1 super star and Honda knowingly sacrificing their reliability reputation by turning up the engines to breaking point over the previous weeks, Alonso along with all the Honda powered drivers knew that to beat Chevy and retain down force it was a necessary risk. Sato wining it was the perfect result for a Japanese engine with a Japanese driver in the biggest motor race in the world...

It was a brilliant race to watch too ...

I was waiting for Alonso on the Indy radio complaining about having an F1 engine... At least it was better than the GP2 engine in his F1 car.

Haven't seen Alonso looking that happy for a long time though.

I know... and it is always a shame that the monaco gp and the indy 500 are the same weekend because i would love to see more F1 drivers have a crack at it....

just on a talent level you would love to see hamilton or vettal have a crack at it....

i can see hamilton doing somelike like nascar after f1....
